CupBop just opened in Cedar City, and a friend with experience in Korea told us it was the closest US offering to authentic Korean food. The Mandoo Potstickers, with veggies and chicken inside, were the shining star of our meal. (We bought an extra 12-piece box to take home.) I also had the chicken Rock Bop bowl at spice level 4 (just tangy), which was huge and very tasty. My spouse had the shredded pork Piggy Bop bowl, also at spice level 4. It disappeared very quickly!
The shop is tiny, with only three tables, seating 10 at most. In addition, there is nowhere to stand (or sit) while waiting for take-away orders - unless you lean against the front window or lounge next to the soda machine and utensils display. I can see it getting very uncomfortable during a winter lunch or dinner rush! A bench along the front windows would help with this issue...
Despite that, I suspect that at these prices, and with these incredibly explosive flavors, we'll be eating...
Read moreThis was the first time I went to this CupBop. I tried it once before at the location in West Valley City, Utah at the mall. It was REALLY good! I even converted my husband who didn't think he was going to like it! We decided to try the new K-Dawg. It is a Korean corn dog pretty much. They have 2 kinds- All cheese, or cheese and sausage. We both went with the cheese. It reminded me of the cheese-on-a-Stick from Hotdog on a stick, but bigger and more Asian. It definitely didn't disappoint, that's for sure! It's got a very unique taste. I also got a side of noodles, kuz they looked really good, and of course, they weren't bad at all. Next time I will get a cup so that I can have a protein with the noodles. All in all, I was pretty impressed. And for being a brand new location, the staff seemed pretty knowledgeable about the menu. In my opinion, I'd say 4 out of 5. We will definitely be...
Read moreGreat food. One of our favorites when we are in Cedar. They have gluten free breaded chicken (Ugly Bop) and almost all their sauces are gluten free. They have gluten free noodles as well. Their Korean BBQ in a cup bowls can consist of rice, cabbage, noodles, and a protein (daughter and I get the chicken, hubby & son get the beef which recently became gluten free). My husband does not have Celiac Disease, but loves their food as much as the three of us who do have Celiac Disease. It's great to have a safe place to eat with many gluten free options. Another idea note, if there is a power outage, CupBop can still serve you while the rest of the city is down!
The potstickers are not gluten free, so my non Celiac husband is the only one who gets them, but...
