I have to give this place a Zero as it was a fail two visits in a row. On my 1st visit I ordered the steak with no butter and no seasoning. (allergy issues) It arrived covered in chives. The sides, baked potato and carrots, were also covered in chives. The server acted surprised and said he would have it replaced. He then came back and said the potato was the last one and I needed to choose a different side. I asked if they can just hold the carrots and potato and not throw them away. He was able to save the sides. The replacement steak was covered in butter. They tried to say it was the "juice" from the meat. It was clearly butter and flooded the plate. I tasted salt right away. I figured not a big deal. Part way through eating I began having reactions. I made it clear I have food allergies to garlic and other seasonings, that is why I don't have them put on. After looking very closely, it was not just salt on the meat. It had seasoning all over it. It is so micro sized you had to scrap some off on the plate to look at the different shaped seasoning. I became sick before even leaving the restaurant because they didn't follow an allergy request.
On the 2nd visit, I order the same thing. Again, it came covered in chives. A manager brought it and acted surprised when I said it was ordered with absolutely no seasoning and no butter. She took it to replace it, along with my sister's order of ribs as she accidentally rubbed her over throw she was wearing across the top of the ribs as she was leaning over setting down the plates.
The replacement steak came. It had no seasoning or butter. It was cooked way past what I ordered. I ordered straight medium. It came well done. No pink at all anywhere. It was so tough it was like eating beef jerky. The steamed carrots were steamed maybe 1min. They were natural raw and snapped with every bite. The potato was over cooked and turned to powder. It just crumbled every time you tried to stab it.
The server confirmed the order said medium and no butter or seasoning. She looked at it and said it is well done and not medium. I told her I will keep it as sending it back again will just be more delays and problems.
The side appetizer we ordered came out completely hard. It was cheese fries. The cheese was dried to a crisp and the fries were hard and snapped. They replaced it with one that was better, but was still way over cooked with cheese that shattered it was so dried out.
I asked about the croissants on the menu that said "additional". We were told each table can get complimentary croissants. That was never told to us before.
It was two times in a row having bad food and it is clear they do not follow any allergy sensitivity request. I tried giving them a second chance but it is not worth having to send back food every time because they ignore allergy requests or cooking temps. Then they way over cook the food so it is not what was ordered. It will be a very long time until I ever go back, if at all. It's not worth the risk getting sick because allergens are on the food being served after they are well informed to...
Read moreWhere do I start. We came in about 5:10 to beat the dinner rush. We were told we could sit in the bar. We were ignored by no more than 5 separate servers that walked by us multiple times. After 15 minutes a manager stopped by and finally acknowledged that we weren't being taken care. A second manager took our order. In the meantime the bar area is filling up and people are being taken care of. Orders are being taken, people are eating. After 30 minutes, a manager stops by and asks if we are being taken care of. We said it has been 30 minutes since we gave our order and no one has stopped by. We are then told that somehow our order had not be placed in the kitchen. It was forgotten. I remind you, it was taken by a manager since we were being ignored by the servers. We finally got our food a full hour after it was placed. We had to ask for silverware. Not once did anyone stop by to ask if our food was okay or if we needed a drink refill. My husband ordered a steak and no asked if it was prepared correctly. We had to flag down the manager again. He made it right by comping our meal. But, I would really like to know why we were ignored. What was it about us that made them not want to take care of us. Why?! Did we look like vagrants? I had just came from work(I am an engineer). My husband was dressed nicely. Did we say something? I thought we were polite. I worked tables paying for my way through school, so I make sure to be polite. We were discussing the bad day I had. I am Asian. Did that have something to do with it? I, for the life of me, can't figure out why we were ignored by the servers and reluctantly taken care of by the management. I am 51 years old and I have never been treated so badly by a restaurant. I have always loved the food at Cheddar's but because of this experience, I will never...
Read moreI went here on a Thursday evening before going to a movie. I was seated pretty quickly and the waitress came within a reasonable amount of time. I ordered the cheese curds and a pilsner of beer. They do not have a good selection of beer on tap but a decent assortment in bottle and they make speciality drinks. I then ordered the bacon cheeseburger with bacon cheddar fries. You get a free honey butter croissant to start. The croissant was warm and flakey, very good and highly recommended. The curds were good, not overdone nor were they oily, though pretty standard curds. The ranch served with the curds was good, better than some other places I have been. The beer was fine and cold. The burger was large, came with lettuce, tomato, and pickle. The burger was cooked through so a bit over for me but still an ok burger. The toppings were fresh and solid, not soggy or squishy like you find in some places. The bun appeared fresh and soft. The fries themselves were fine with a nice amount of salt but the upgraded bacon cheddar left something to be desired. The cheese was all clumped in 2 places on the fries, not melted very well but the bacon pieces were a bit over fine so a few pieces were even burnt. The service was fine and the waitress was nice. The best part of the meal was the prices. In an age of overinflated prices on everything, the prices here are very good and you could come here a few times a week and be better off than going to some places once. So overall, I was pleased with my meal and would recommend this place for a pretty good experience though not going to blow you away. A good solid place for good food. I would go back though I will avoid the cheddar bacon upgrade on the fries. You can even have a few drinks here with your meal without...
