I have been to eat at this resturant twice before their offical opening today. The first time was a pick up to go which i had no issues with the 2 was on a tuesday night with their all you can eat spaghetti. We where expecting it to be busy. They had no tables open, so we waited and where sat in 5 minutes. We then ordered and waited. While the waiters scrambled and got refills to the other tables and we never got our food and had to flag someone down and show them our receipt to get our food. Then today on their grand opening we went in person to the opening on our lunch break stood in line for 20 minutes to get to the counter and ask how long a wait it was they said over an hour. We left and then once at work we called back and asked if its okay to order the gandolas over the phone and come and pick them up the employe said yes. So my coworker placed her order to pick up at 3. I then called and asked if it was okay if i placed an order for the gandolas and had my coworker pick them up for me. The employee said yes and put them both under my coworkers number. Keep in mind we placed this order at 12:30. When she arrived to pick up our orders. The MANAGER informed us that it just wasnt fair to let her pick up our orders because the other people had been waiting there for over an hour and it just wasnt fair and that THEY WHERE NOT ALLOWED TO PICK UP MY ORDER AS WELL. Not to mention while we where standing there they where handing out gandolas left amd right through their drive through but the people in the lobby had been waiting over an hour? I am beyond frustrated with this encounter and i recomend staying away until the resturant is more...
Read moreThe food was really good. I got an all meat calizone. It was served hot, fresh, cooked right and came with marinara sauce. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I am giving only two stars because of the service. There were only two other tables with patrons besides ours. Although many people came in and out for takeout. There were two waitresses. Our waitress did not smile, acted like we were imposing upon her and acted like she was wanting to be anywhere but there. The other waitress had the other two tables. They both got their first course and main course before we received ours even though they came in after us. My friend ordered the spaghetti and an appetizer. The appetizer did not make it to her before the spaghetti. Both were delivered at the same time even though she told the waitress she wanted it before her spaghetti. The other waitress was attentive to her customers. She refilled their drinks without being asked. She checked on her customers. She was pleasant to them as well.
The restaurant appeared clean. Rather old looking though. Even though the food was good I will not make another trip with my friend all the way from Waterloo just for eating at Zio Johno's like I would for other...
Read moreMy mom called and ordered and I went to pick it up and I gave my moms name (even though my mom put the order under my name) the cashier was fairly rude to me when there wasn’t an order under her name. The order wasn’t big it was a fairly easy order in my opinion and our 8” gondola was left out of our order. I thought I could trust the employees to have my order right after the cashier looked in my bag 4-5 times but I guess I shouldn’t have. I got home and realized my sandwich was missing. I called and the manager offered to drive the distance to deliver my sandwich. I was giving them the benefit of the doubt since they just moved locations and I said it wasn’t necessary and I would come pick it up (15min drive) I went back and got my sandwich that had been prepared almost 2hrs before that and two $5 gift certificates. I drive BACK home once again. To realize my sandwich had NO LETTUCE on it and the bread was VERY dry. Highly disappointed. I guess I should’ve opened my sandwich right there to check to see if my order was all there ;) Hate to be the one to leave nasty reviews but I hope Zio and it’s employees can take this into consideration and pay more...
