Moreno's Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Chandler

I've always really enjoyed Filibertos, you know, Amados, Texanos, Elmer's, you know, casual Mexican Food. Went with my parents, grandma, and partner, and everyone enjoying their meals isn't always a walk in the park, we've got an over 90 year old with us who's eaten a very particular, self cooked, East Indian diet for her whole life hah! So we rolled up and they had a food truck out front with seating, think they were serving up hot dogs or something different from the regular menu. We went inside, the guys running it were really nice, welcoming, and definitely made effort to make sure we enjoyed ourselves and our meals. I was in the mood for carne con papas so I had the Californja which was super enjoyable, my parents had tostadas and really enjoyed them. If you eat vegatarian ask for black beans instead of refried just fyi. They're vegetarian, grandma too, so getting quality vegetarian food at casual Mexican restaurants isn't always a simple task. But they said there were more veggies on those than they're used to getting. My partner had the mini chimis and said they were good with the sauces, maybe chicken could've been a little more seasoned but the sauces add whatever flavor you want and they had a huge selection of salsas, carrots with jalapeños, etc I've catered and done food service a lot so even though i'd like more veggies inside, more onions, garlic etc. it's hard to guage someone's spice tolerance and what they'd like inside or on their food, so doing it this way everyone can eat. I am a bit disappointed that im even writing this review , especially when we have had some great meals here ,we came in after being at highschool graduation ,Morenos used to be my to go spot for tacos and Sonoran dogs, so we mentioned it to the family and we were excited to go! Same look nothing new or special , we just wanted tacos and sonoran dogs !! Orders were taken by a young guy working the register ,nice kid polite ,but maybe got a little overwhelmed, Food was coming out and we could see it on the warmer but kid was still taking other customers orders ,I finally asked him for the food because ,we didn't want cold or soggy tacos ,forgot to give us drinks ,he brought out the rest of the tacos to our tables ,I had to get up and check on Hotdogs ,which were sitting on the shelf ,had to ask for the rest of the drinks ,other families showed up aswell after Grad night so may had been overwhelming for all staff ,then we ordered deserts and churro tasted like it had been microwaved hard in spots cold inside , arros con Leche was not good rice tasted hard overcooked and Leche was to soupy ,the fresas con crema were pretty good , All in all tacos were pretty good and hotdogs were OK, i know they have other locations now ,but to me this was the OG spot and it used to be my favorite, maybe a bad night and food just. mY EXPERIENCE WITH MORENOS IS I GUESS JUST SO-SO...TO START THE LENGUA ON MY TACOS WAS MUSHY AND LACKED FLAVOR. MY MAIN ISSUE IS THAT WHEN I LOOKED ONLINE TO SELECT MY ORDER WITH COWORKERS, I SEE ONE PRICE BUT WHEN I GOT MY RECIEPT AFTER I PAID I SEE THAT I WAS CHARGED DIFFERENTLY! 1.99 FOR AN ORDER OF FRIES IT SAYS ON LINE BUT I ENDED UP PAYING $2.79? 2 ORDERS OF LENGUA TACOS CAME OUT TO $3.98 BUT 2 ORDERS OF TRIPA TACOS CAME OUT TO $4.98...WHY THE PRICE DIFFERENCE IF ONLINE BOTH KIND FALL UNDER THE $1.89 STREET TACOS? ITS NOT ABOUT FEW EXTRA BUCKS...IM PISSED THAT I WAS TOLD ONE THING BUT CHARGED ANOTHER.
