Decent coffee shop in a prime location. Has a well above average variety of food because it is connected to Carolina Coffee Shop - confusingly, the restaurant of the two. That is a huge plus! You can get good burritos, sandwiches, toast, etc. The actual coffee is good too. They have items like tea lattes, seasonal iced tea, matcha & mochas, too. Whipped cream made in house.
It is usually quite packed. Lots of people studying.
I find the service not super friendly, a bit impersonal, and for dine-in experience, slightly lazy. I am a strong believer that dine-in coffee should not be served in disposable cups. And at that, their disposable cups were so thin! It might feel like a small detail, but it is a symptom of a larger mindset. The baristas ask people’s names but then forget them when announcing the order… as another example.
I probably have been here ~12 or so times. A good study spot near campus if you snag a table...

She shared our excitement and worked hard to make it what we wanted. We brought in simple flowers for the tables and our own plates, napkins, and decor for the serving table. The southern pick ups of deviled eggs, chicken and waffles, pimento cheese fritters, and bltas were plentiful and delicious! The set up worked really well for sitting at the tables and/or for mingling. It was so much fun - a great way to start the wedding weekend...
Read moreCute coffee shop. I went in after a marathon at the University campus so they were hammered and (I'm assuming) slower than usual but the staff was still friendly and still took the time to make cute latte art.
The vibe wasn't hectic or stressed, which I appreciate. Everyone just calmly waited or worked or quietly chatted.
The ham & cheese croissant was lovely and so was the caprese sandwich. Next time I'd ask for less balsamic, as it soaked the bread, but it was a good sweet balsamic, so it wasn't unpleasant.
The dirty chai latte was tasty but could have had a bit more oomf. Still, quite good for an...
