Mudhouse Charleston — Restaurant in Charleston

What a gem of a coffeehouse! We were in Charleston for a business event. I looked up different coffee cafes in the area and wanted to try Mudhouse since it had great reviews and was nearby. We are so glad we found this cafe. Everything we ordered was perfect. And, even more impressive, was the wonderful team. We met Jessica, the manager, who took our order the first day. We went back later that day (yes, it is that good that we walked there during our break despite a coffee shop being right in our hotel) and got to meet Cinnamon, who was so patient and kind. The next morning we went back and once again saw Jessica and Wright served us delicious drinks, perfect for first thing in the morning. Stopped in because hotel coffee was not good. We had requests, were judged by our requested drinks. (Scoffing and unsubtle laughing) The snarky, judgmental ladies working here were rude and disrespectful. Probably not a way to have new customers return to your business. We ordered three drinks, of which two were thrown out as we left, I drank half of mine before tossing it. Ok more like a 4.5 however locally owned and staff was wonderful. This is expensive good coffee. A medium size latte with and extra shot and tax was $8.88 and a chocolate croissant was $6.66 and the Italian doughnut was $4.99. My husband loved his coffee and the croissant was good. The Italian doughnut was not light and fluffy as described and was ok. I wouldn’t have it again. The shop is very clean and classy inside and right on king st.
