This rating is not for the taste of the pralines but actually the non transparency about the prices and how we were overcharged after reweighing the items at home on our food scale. I see that another person also noted this in their review that you cannot see the scale as it faces behind the counter so you really don't know what is being charged.
It may seem small as it's a $2 difference in price, however this could really add up based on every single customer that comes through store if that happens to them as well.
When we first selected an item we picked a praline with chocolate; the girl weighed it and it came out over $25 for one piece. There was no way that piece was a pound. We had her remove it from scale and put it back, and she really didn't say much when we questioned her about the high price.
We strongly suggest that you follow practices like other food stores and markets that sell weighted items. The customer should be able to see how much the item actually weighs for transparency purposes and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis shop was staffed by a crew of very friendly folks who made me feel very welcome from the moment I stepped in.
At the front of the shop, two ladies were making fresh praline candies, sort of like peanut brittle, but with pecans. They invited everyone who can in to try some freshly made still-warm samples. I don't eat nuts, but my husband tells me It was delicious!
I ended up buying a large package of candied pecan, which were actually made in a different facility in Savannah, Georgia. Although this shop had a wide variety of temping candies and fudges made in house, I was hoping to get pecans, so I ended up with that purchase.
Although the bag was a little on the expensive side, hubby greatly enjoyed them and did not regret my choice of purchase. As an extra treat, the cashier threw in one of their freshly made praline candies for free, which was a nice touch.
If you are craving something sweet on your trip to the City Market, I would definitely give this...

We were looking around for the fudge shop but wound up finding this little gem. As we went in they offered everyone a test of Thier praline and, (let me just say top tier), we started looking around. Oh my goodness they have a great display. The fudge and the truffles were on my daughter's and my mind, then we also got some pralines (chocolate and original). Everything is wonderful. Except I guess down side if the market is crowded and a few people are in there... There is not much room to walk around. Lovely job ladies! Great job. Hope this helps and have a...
