I waited to review this place until I'd been twice, in order to make sure that my first time wasn't a fluke. The food here is amazing. I am a burger guy, while my wife tends towards foodie food. We have both been extremely happy both times we came. I brought my parents this time who also loved theirs. I can't compliment the burgers enough. They are big, perfectly seasoned, and cooked well. The fries and homemade chips are great as well. My wife says the salads are great, and nice portions. The atmosphere of the place is pleasing. It's open and airy, with a great view of the market out of the wall to wall windows. There are about 15 big TVs, that can be seen from any seat in the house. The service was great this time around. Our first experience was with a waiter who wasn't very attentive, but this time the waitress kept on top of the waters and checked on us the perfect amount. Overall it's a real 10 for downtown dining.

This is an absolute must to have upscale food at very reasonable cost. We were strolling around looking for a place and stumbled upon Meeting at Market and were so glad we did. I will however caution you that while the food was delicious, the portions were quite large. The service was outstanding, the setting very very comfortable overlooking the entrance to the market, a great experience overall. You may think there is some sort of fool trickery going on with the photo of the sandwich perspective but I can assure you the Italian Avocado Club on Sourdough will fill you up! In our group we had the sandwich below, the fish and chips, the cobb salad, and the chicken wings. Everyone reported their meal as “out ordering everyone else” so there you go! The on-tap beer was fantastic as well!

Right in the center of it all! No matter where you are in downtown Charleston, this place is convenient. Located inside the Belmond Hotel. Belmond has an entrance on King and Meeting. This restaurant is on the Meeting St side, hence the name. We didn't want to wait so we sat at the bar. It was Saturday afternoon and crowded. We had great service. The food was awesome. We had a vegan meal there. You have to ask and look at side dishes and appetizers. But still, we had a vegan meal. The French onion bruscetta was amazing! Seasonal dishes available. Full bar. NOT under staffed! Yeah! The perfect place to sit by the window and people watch. Also, nice couchy tables in the back. Almost forgot about all the TV's to watch whatever sport you're into. We will go back!

My group and I (5 total) dined in on Saturday night and really enjoyed trying out the menu! The food was delicious, cocktails were beautiful, the atmosphere was lively and exactly what we were looking for. As locals it’s awesome to find a good spot to have an after work drink or meal. Unfortunately, our server, Kelly, seemed to write us off as soon as we sat. We ordered starters, drinks, and entrees as soon as we were greeted due to the kitchen closing about 40 mins after being seated. After that, we watched Kelly avoid our table and tend to others pretty frequently. We received our cocktails and were never offered water by our server. The staff member who delivered drinks helped us out and brought a carafe 15 minutes after we sat down (we anticipated Kelly bringing water since there were glasses on the table, but soon realized it wasn’t going to happen unprompted). About a third of the way into our meal we were finally able to ask her for a water refill. I was almost done with my appetizer, and entrees were arriving, when I had the chance to ask the manager on duty for an additional side to accompany my starter. We felt like Kelly avoided eye contact with our table throughout our first course as she walked back and forth between the server station and her section, making it impossible to ask for anything we wanted/needed. Check ins were minimal throughout dinner and even if we wanted to order more drinks, we didn’t get a chance. We all agreed that we’d return to the restaurant but would choose to sit at the bar instead. Our entire group works in F&B so we understand having off nights, but that particular service, or lack of, felt deliberate. With each of us spending between $50-$100 on our respective meals, we would’ve appreciated a more...

I've worked service industry and so has my husband for over 20 years and this was by far the worst experience we've ever had in a restaurant. I know times are super hard for restaurants right now, but this was ridiculous. When we get there we tell the hostess there will be 5 of us and one high chair. She says sure. We wait for a while for a table to be cleared off, no big deal, I'm cool with that. When we're seated I ask our server Gary of we could have a high chair for our 1 year old. "we don't have high chairs" Gary says. Okay??? Service is pretty much non-existent so I can't really say it was bad because there wasn't any to begin with. I saw Gary occasionally check on other tables and refill drinks, but any time we needed something we had to flag someone down. We finally get a bill and there is a 20% gratuity automatically added to any party over 6 and there is stuff on there we didn't order. I could understand the gratuity if our party of 6 didn't include a 1 year old and a 3 year old NEITHER of which even ordered anything. He just stuck that 20% because he knew he sucked waiting on us and hoped to get something. Guess what Gary, we were STILL going to tip you even though you SUCKED but you had to stick that gratuity on there. And to top it all off after the manager kindly fixed our check, we left the money on the table and started to leave. As we walked by ol' Gary he said, "If YoU lEaVe Im CaLlIng ThE CoPs." Money was on the table Gary, but you wouldn't have realized that BECAUSE YOU NEVER CHECKED UP ON US.

Food was pretty good...

Completely disgusted by the people who work at this place. Saturday night we were trying to grab a bite it was 9:30 pm- 9:45 ish. We had our seven month old baby and they told us that they could seat us all the way in the back other part of the restaurant more quiet, which was fine by us. After a minutes or so and the hostess whispering‘s among each other they told us they were just informed that the kitchen was closed that they were only serving dessert and drinks to try the place down the street. ( you work there! How do you not know the hours of operation.) your site clearly stated you are open till 12:00 am on Saturdays) Not a family friendly place. Avoid going there. The host looked at us in such a way like we shouldn’t even be out because we had a baby. Completely disrespectful. She had this look on her face the minute we walked up. As if she had it in mind that we would not be eating there because we had a baby with us or maybe because we are a interracial couple. Either way it was a horrible feeling and she is very lucky my son is too little to remember this but I promise you I will NOT allow such disrespect and not giving you hell for it ever again. (Even sadder thing is that she didn’t look American/white, she was definitely a...
