This location needs re-training of 2nd shift employees (food safety and customer service). I went to this location of Bojangle's for the first time in a couple of years on Wednesday, 9/1/2021 at 5:30 pm. I was used to exceptional service on previous visits, but sadly, that wasn't the case on this visit.
First and foremost, Bojangle's needs to be aware that employees were wearing the same food service gloves to run the cash register, box up food, and check the lobby and the trash without hand-washing at all. Absolutely unacceptable and the reason that I felt compelled to write this review. Food service gloves are only for food service (not the register or the lobby/trash), and hand washing should always be done before putting on fresh gloves. The employees in this location need to go through a ServSafe class and get certified. I would have ignored all the remaining issues if it weren't for this.
This location was chaotic. The person running the register (a young male, even though my receipt shows another person's name as the cashier), did not know that leg & thigh were dark meat, did not know how to ring a discount (and did not offer to find someone that did), and just seemed to be having issues operating the cash register at all. I felt sorry for him, as it was obvious that he had not been fully trained on the register or in customer service.
The shift leader was frequently issuing directions to her crew that were largely ignored. No one, including her, was aware of what customers were waiting for what food, and there were long waits for chicken and for Supremes (which should have been ready for the upcoming dinner rush). There was another customer who had come in from the drive through and been waiting 30 minutes for 3 wings and still didn't have them even after I got my food.
I felt sorry for the crew because they were clueless as to what was going on. I felt sorry for the shift leader because the crew wasn't following directions. I felt sorry for the other customers because they weren't being served in a timely (or really any) manner.
The store manager needs to spend some time with this crew and this shift leader to get them focused, trained on food safety and handling, trained on customer service, and to install at least some sense of urgency.
The staff was friendly, but just didn't know what they were doing. One star predominately because of the food safety/hand...
Read moreMan oh man this place needs some big time help and a turnaround in management. I have years of corporate and fine dining experience, so I get that my standards are somewhat high. I usually go once every three weeks or so and it’s usually okay, but this time was terrible. My order was a supreme with a sweet tea and 2 Bo berry biscuits. I waited at the serving window (drive-thru) for 21 mins. The following is what I observed….
There were about 8+ people working and 4 or so customers in the dining room. Majority of staff had their hands in their pockets. First I was greeted by the manager who didn’t have my order correct, so we fixed it, it was fine. Then she walked away. 5 mins later, a girl walked up and told me what my order was, completely wrong. She walked away after 2 mins, then told me my order and it was wrong once again. I had ordered a sweet tea, so she brought that out to me. I watched as she poured a regular tea. I tried it, and it was wrong. So I called her over and asked her to grab me a sweet tea. She was in disbelief. THE ATTITUDE was not okay. She then told the rest of the staff within range with the window open, “HE SAID ITS NOT SWEET TEA!” She told everyone that she saw and every employee had their own comments to share. I was then handed me a new one, which was poured correctly. Again with the attitude, “you wanna try this first?” Okay great. Another 10 mins went by and I watched as she danced around the kitchen. Also watched this same girl smack another employee in the head (I literally heard it in my car). Watched most of the employees working stop to snack on food while I was sitting there as well. The manager was asking for things and being talked back to the entire time. She had said something to one employee and his response was, “damn woman hold on a minute.” Then my food finally came out. Y’all gotta figure this out, especially during high service periods. Also may be good to close the window if that’s how the staff...
Read moreThis Bojangles was the worst fast food experience I've ever had. There was a single drive thru customer at the time I walked inside. Two customers inside. I stood at the register for ten minutes before I was ever even acknowledged. Then once the employee tried to take our orders he couldn't understand why the printer was "out of ink".. the printer he was talking about was a thermal printer for God's sake. I don't even work there and I knew more about it than they did. After 5 more minutes of printer issues it turned out the paper was in backwards. After I ordered and my two friends ordered, it took about 15 minutes before we all got our food, in which time a lady came inside who had apparently been waiting for an item they had to special make for her and had been sitting in her car for 25 minutes. They had forgot about her completely. mind you.. there was no other customers at this point. And everything I ordered was in the hot bar area and in stock. All they had to do was scoop it. I received the most undercooked biscuit I've ever seen, another person I was with received a chicken patty that looked like it had been sitting out for a day. I demanded they replace it with something else which they did (only positive point during the entire visit) meanwhile the entire time I was in there, multiple employees were walking around bitching and complaining about being there. Not a single employee had a smile on their face at any point. I mean I get it.. who wants to work at a Bojangles, but hell I don't particularly like my job either, but I sure as hell make sure the customers I interact with don't know that. I will never go back to this location and honestly it was so bad that it's making me reconsider going to any...
