Well I have a mixed review here
Lost food and money in this experience
On one hand very clean spacious atmosphere and the food that we order to eat in was on point. Service was ok.
HOWEVER, I ordered food to go to bring home for my husband. The bag was all tied up and knotted tight and the ticket attached had my exact order written down. Thought I was good to go. I actually make a point here and note I didn't like that I had to go up front for my my ordered food, I think after all of this if you're dinning in and getting an order to go the server that took the order should make sure everything is taken care of and bring it to you and then you can go check out. BECAUSE Again waiting after paying and recieveing a knotted up bag and having my toddler in on hand and juggling the order in the other was too overwhelming to stop and check.. i trusted again cause the ticket matched . I had a bit of a drive to get home. I came home and to my surprise it was NOT the correct order , but some sort of weird gyro sandwich. I ordered grilled pork and veggies. I called to explain what happened. The person who answered put me on hold without saying I was on hold and I was talking away for a good minute only for him to come back on the line and say thanks for holding . I said oh my goodness I had no idea you put me on hold and explained what happened again. He said there was nothing he could do. He said unless you bring back the food.. I said I cant not at this point and its already cold and by the time you get it its going to be mush no one will want this ! Can't you do something else to redeem this? He said no I'm sorry if you're not willing to bring it back I cant do anything. Well I'm pregnant with a toddler on a nap , how am I suppose to drive it at this point and later will just be even more ridiculous. I asked if he was the manager and he said yes one of them , but did not give me his name he sounded young and shy or maybe like he just didn't want to deal with me. I said so this is your solution? He said yeah nothing I can do . And I said well I have been excited to try this restaurant, and even though dinning it was a great experience this order mix up is just unexceptable in my opinion and I dont think I will be back and he said sorry you feel that way and hung up . Crazy! I've never heard of a restaurant asking for a food order to come back especially if it had been gone for more than 10min and my drive home was nearly an hour. Most of them find a way to remedy something, leave your name at the counter saying your next meal is on us or the next time you we'll treat you to something to make up for the mistake, come back and give us another chance. No fight here , a shame really. Again just blown away So ! My advice is this, if you want to try this place...... dine in , do NOT order to go and if you dare do so, either ask them to check things over with you before you go and they bag it or rip that knotted bag open and check yourself . This is also food that cannot be eaten in this house hold as the original order was specific to dietary needs.
After this , I will have to think really long and hard before returning because I lost food and money over...
Read moreI'm writing this for my 87 year old mother because she is not tech savvy and doesn't get online. But what happened to her was so terrible, it needs to be told. April 25, 2025 at 530pm, my mom and her husband went to sunrise restaurant on albemarle rd. . When my mom took a bite of her thick hamburger she had a sharp, painful feeling in her mouth and front tooth. She immediately saw that she had bitten into a penny inside her burger. She was in so much pain she actually involuntarily let out a scream. The assistant manager came over and my mom showed him the penny and told him she had bitten into her hamburger and the penny was inside and broke her tooth. The assistant manager took my mom's plate and the manager took the penny. The manager explained he would contact the supplier of the burgers because he didn't make them in house. Let me also say my mom and her husband are regulars there and the management knew them from being repeat customers. The penny broke a crown, tore ligaments and mom had to make an emergency dental visit the following morning on Saturday. She went through 6 weeks of pain and discomfort until the needed dental repairs were completed, Which totaled over $5000.00. Mom left immediately that night because she was in so much pain, but she asked them to file an incident report. They never filed that report. I called sunrise to speak to management about the situation. They told me they had a video and for me to talk to my mom and would say nothing else to me. I told mom there was a video. She said great then it will show what happened because, as I said, she isn't tech savvy and doesn't have a smart phone to take a picture of the penny. So my mom and husband went back to the restaurant to show her dental bills and provide them with a copy of the incident report that she created, since sunrise never did one. Well they practically ran my mom and step-dad out of the restaurant. Owner/ management was so rude to my mom. They told her they didn't know what she was talking about. Even the female waitress that was there, denied it ever happened. The owners/ management denied it happened. Well I want the video that the manager told me about in my phone call to him. All he could say is we have video, talk to your mom. What a horrible way to treat someone. Especially an 87 year old lady that has been a loyal customer for years. My mom went through 6 weeks of dental procedures, 6 weeks of being in pain and discomfort and they want to ignore her and deny it ever happened!!! Never go to this horrible restaurant! The owner/ management personnel are indifferent, rude...
Read moreSo to be honest I've been to this restaurant multiple times. Today I experienced something like I've never experienced before here. There was about six to seven other people in the restaurant at this time. Me and my daughter went in for a late lunch, I ordered my usual she chose chicken tips over white rice and two sides, which was $10.95. By the way, specials come with a complimentary cup of soup which she was not offered at all. The waitress was a little less than friendly and attentive to say the least. As an appetizer we ordered mozzarella sticks which we had to ask for a marinara sauce. After waiting about 20 minutes for our food to arrive, the manager brought the food to our table and my daughter quickly noticed two long black hairs that were on the side of her plate right after he placed her plate on the table. The manager meekly said I'm sorry before taking the plate away and not even asking her if she wanted something else or not even offering to comp the meal. Not like she ordered a ribeye steak, her meal was a $10.95 Tuesday special. A replacement meal, same entree was brought out to her within 7 minutes, by our waitress. The manager never even came over to ask how everything was apologized offer to take a certain percentage off, offer a free slice of pie ...nothing. food was fair, service terrible. We decided we won't be patronizing this establishment again. Sad because they are local and we have had pretty decent meals there in the past, unfortunately we will not be spending our money there anymore. Sorry Sunrise restaurant. I write real and...
