XOXO Cocktail Lounge — Restaurant in Charlotte

The door guy is just rude and scary. The place looked nice but the overall vibe was just ghetto. The rude guy at the door made me get rid of my pepper spray after checking my purse. 🙄 The girl that worked the front was polite but you can tell they are used to regulars coming here. We had to ask for details of where we could sit. We had to ask why there was a whole other section that we were not allowed to go in. Apparently there's a club next to the lounge and the entrance is by the bathrooms??. The door guy quickly barked at us when we tried to go to the bathrooms because he thought we were sneaking over to the club that was not opened yet?? haha! Like bruh is uptightttt. All the booths are reservation seating from what we told. If you don't buy a booth you are stuck standing or sitting on these wobbly chairs at the bar. The DJ was wack and should not be in charge of any afro-caribbean event again. Nobody buys tickets to these events to hear rap or trap music 😒 Also it would've been nice if there was some food being served smh.. The people that come here are not really friendly. Spent $450 for a booth. This place has no working AC!!!! We were hot the whole night and couldn’t really enjoy. We went to Encore side and it had air. I asked the bottle girl about it & she said it’s always like that. There were no fans or nothing blowing air. Just HOT! They had the doors open & that wasn’t doing nothing but bringing in hot air. Website for booth purchase clearly says “include tax & gratuity” but I had to pay taxes on the remaining balance. They said my initial charge didn’t go through even though it said for the remaining balance even though it said approved so they ran my card again. I checked my account and showed the bottle girl where it went through twice. They said they reversed the second charge. After leaving I had 3 charges on my card….eventually only one charge posted but charging a card 3 times the amount is crazy. Not sure how a charge that says aproved didn’t go through. So I had a friend visiting from out of town and we went there this past Saturday (3/2) to celebrate her birthday. We had dinner first at Mert's and headed over to XOXO which was literally down the block.

At first we had a great time...we were a party of 3 seated in the front part of the lounge, enjoying our drinks, the music, and the atmosphere. Suddenly around 11 or so one of the women who worked there came over to our table, RUDELY told us to get up that this was VIP paid seating, started touching our drinks and made us get up.

I was absolutely horrified at her rudeness.... I could've purchased another table being that my friend came all the way NY to visit with me and celebrate her birthday but this woman never asked us or gave us a chance to ask. Her customer service skills were disgusting. I wished I would've asked that lady her name, however she was rude and I WILL NOT be going back to your establishment ever again, she needs serious...
