Heart and Soul catered my mother’s 80th birthday party which also aligned with Father’s Day. We had twelve family members in for an intimate, comfortable, fun family dinner celebration at home, just the way my mom prefers it. What can I say? other than it was it was a beyond perfect party . Chef Lisa, her Sous Chef and serving team were amazing, funny and engaging. They matched the energy of the room and even brought a little of their own. Her team members were attentive and friendly. They laughed with us while making sure everyone’s needs were met. Chef Lisa shared some short stories about the origin of some of her favorite recipes passed down from her grandmother. You could feel the love and her passion for cooking flow from her as she talked about her grandma’s family gatherings back in the day. That love and passion was in every bite of the food she prepared for us. It was all so good. We had a beautiful Charcuterie board to start with out on the patio and then moved inside where the team had arranged a beautiful place settings at the table. We had a five course meal that was exquisite, right from the chicken shrimp gumbo soup, (the house salad, Chateaubriand) to Chef Lisa’s grandmothers’ blackberry cobbler with homemade ice cream. Each week Chef Daja comes into our home to prepare pre-portioned, low-calorie, low-carb meals. Never thought my family would enjoy meals that did not include rice, potatoes, or pasta, but here we are! Everything is delicious and attractive. I'm always impressed by the effort Chef puts into making even these small, pre-packaged meals look appetizing. Within weeks, my son had shed 25 pounds, my husband lost 15 pounds, and I (perimenopausal) lost 5 pounds I'd previously accepted were just not going away.
