Ben & Jerry’s — Restaurant in Chattanooga

My friends and I visited this location during a busy time in the evening after a long day of walking around and dining in the city. It was extremely crowded, as their cafe is relatively small and a lot of people wanted their ice cream, but the staff was managing the crowd well, all things considered. Ice cream was decent, it’s exactly what you expect from a corporate ice cream shop, only maybe 3x the price it should be… lol

What made me write this review: let’s talk about my guy Giovanni for a second. I really wanted to try the brownie sundae, but it very clearly had nuts on it in the picture, and I have a severe allergy to all peanuts and tree nuts. I told Gio what I was looking for, MADE ME FEEL SO WELCOMED AND UNDERSTOOD, and went above and beyond anything I’ve ever seen to ensure that my food was safe to eat. He put on gloves, changed out old equipment for brand new ones, and OPENED BRAND NEW tubs of the flavors I wanted — I’ve never seen such attention to detail! He even put my toppings on with clean disposable utensils. Whoever this guy is, he deserves much more than this meager recognition! Give that...

I am an ice cream fan, I don't just scream for ice cream I sing, dance & jump for it 🎉😎✌

I waited in line for over 20 minutes (which is fine) got my small cup & was excited for the treat on a lovely warm day walking around outside but something was VERY WRONG. It tasted gritty like it had sand in it. The texture wasn't creamy like icecream should be. Is this normal for Ben & Jerry's? I don't usually buy B&J brand but I do know icecream shouldn't taste this strange.

There was a line out the door, only 2 kids working so I didn't get back in line to wait another 30 mins to speak with them or get an exchange/refund.

I tossed it in the bin on the corner. :-(

Such a shame & waste of time / hard earned money.

I was hesitant to leave a review because surely this is an isolated incident but something was wrong!

Notable: the bathrooms were horrendous :-( Not a clean table in the place. Again they were very busy & massively under staffed, especially charging $10/cup they could afford another staff...

The ice cream was fantastic and the portions are good. The service was lacking though. No one behind the counter worked with a sense of urgency even though the line was to the door. The young man who was making our order was busy talking to the other girl who was making another customer’s order about the band’s music that was playing in the store (he knew all the songs, had grown up with them, would always listen to them, etc) and took his time with each item we ordered (he made 3 out of 4). I couldn’t help but notice that the girl he was talking to had a watch and bracelets that were covered in ice cream but continued making order after order without removing or cleaning them. Before we could finish ordering, the young man passed us off to someone who had just walked in who was sweet but needed a few minutes to find gloves and answer the phone before taking the last of our order - making our long wait even longer.
