A few months ago, my family and I took a spontaneous trip to Chattanooga and decided to stop by this spot for a drink on the water. It seemed like the perfect place to unwind.
We headed upstairs to the bar/lounge area, which had a fun, albeit dated, decor. The space was large and not crowded at all. There happened to be a small bachelorette party that day, which may have contributed to the lackluster service—but unfortunately, it left a bad impression.
When we arrived on the second floor, we seated ourselves and walked up to the bar. Despite clearly seeing us, the bartenders didn’t acknowledge us, offer a greeting, or even indicate that they’d be with us shortly. We sat there for 15 minutes without so much as eye contact. Given how empty the place was, it was confusing—were we not supposed to be there? Was it an unofficial break time? Eventually, we returned to our table and continued waiting. It wasn’t until another guest, who had just arrived, approached the bar and was helped immediately that we followed suit and were finally served.
Despite this, we still tried to enjoy our visit. My younger siblings had fun playing with the toys provided, which was a nice touch. However, the overall experience gave me the impression that service is not a priority here. The bartenders seemed overly relaxed, and there didn’t appear to be any standard for customer engagement. That said, I do want to acknowledge two very kind staff members who weren’t working the bar—they were the only ones who offered assistance, helping me find the restroom with a friendly attitude. Their small gesture was the most positive interaction of the visit.
I don’t expect over-the-top hospitality, but a simple acknowledgment would have gone a long way. Ultimately, this place needs to put all its guests first, not just certain ones. Perhaps the staff has been there a long time without clear service expectations, but it felt too laid-back to the point of being unwelcoming. I’ll be skipping this...
Read moreDisappointed in my trip to say the least. We took our whole family out of curiosity because we had visited (and loved) the third deck burger bar frequently throughout the years.
The establishment was clean and had a nice set up. That's probably my only positive review.
The items on the menu were creative, but there were not a lot of options for picky eaters, not to mention they didn't allow ANY substitutions. My husband simply wanted his lettuce, tomato, and onion on the side of his burger. They would not even consider it for a moment. This concerns me for people with allergies. They simply recommended he "pick it off" when he got his order. If I'm paying $16 for a burger, I'm not going to "pick off" what I don't want. When we further questioned the person taking our order, they simply stated "this is not a build your own burger bar anymore". I also didn't get asked how I wanted my burger cooked.
The kids menu was very limited, with only two options available. chicken fingers or grilled cheese sandwich. If your kid wants a burger, you are spending minimum of $13 for them to eat.
The activities they offer in the building is an awesome concept. If the kids could do anything. We are pool players so when we saw a family friendly establishment with pool tables we were very excited to be able to play pool with our kids, only to find out that pool tables, darts, and other activities were only allowed to 21 and up. I guess I understand this helps to keep the equipment nice and well taken care of, but it extremely limited the activities we could partake in during our visit.
I'm not entirely sure how, but I ended up paying $65 for two burgers and four sodas. I don't think that trip was worth my money.
All in all, I'm disappointed. I probably won't be back and I...
Read moreI never write reviews but I don't want anyone to have the same experience my family did. We had a group of 5 adults and 2 children. We went for the first & LAST time on Sunday 12/22, when we arrived only 1 group was seated and they left shortly after we arrived so we were the only group eating. I asked a blonde woman wearing a blue hoodie that was working at the bar if we order at the bar or have a seat and she just replied you can. She did not smile or seem to want us there, I asked what she recommended food wise and she said I don't know, so I said that's ok and ordered then found a table to sit at. The rest of my family ordered and were rudely told that we ordered the rest of their burgers so now they are out. We waited a long time for our food and a younger woman brought it out, she was nice but our food was cold and she told us she didn't know what was what. Another woman with red hair started working at the bar and was the only one who made us feel welcome, she was very friendly and helpul. I went to the bar and ordered another drink and the blonde woman gave me and my sister the wrong drinks but we didn't say anything due to her attitude. We asked if the gift shop was open and were told no because someone left early. Before we left, my daughter asked where the bathroom was and a group of staff and an older man sitting at the bar said right in front of you, you are walking right towards it then started whispering to one another. We smiled and remained friendly despite how we were treated and told them all to have a good evening and a Merry Christmas. The blonde just stood there looking mad and the red head replied and was again very friendly. Later that night we were all sick and kept having to go to...
