Uncle Larry's — Restaurant in Chattanooga

We were greeted with a hearty hello and a smiling face upon our entrance. We were seated right away, and our waiter took our drink orders immediately. Please forgive me, I am bad with names. I do not remember our waiters name. Otherwise, I would mention his name and give him credit. I do remember his mom came into the restaurant while we were there. I overheard her say she had been traveling and was just getting off the road. Hopefully, this description will give recognition to the right person. Back to my praising the services at Uncle Larry's! Our appetizer, fried green tomatoes, was delicious. I do not even like or eat tomatoes, but their green tomatoes were amazingly delicious! 😋 I ordered the small whiting fish plate. It came with two large pieces of whiting and two sides of your choice. I chose coleslaw and fries. Let me tell you the fish pieces were so huge, I could only eat one piece. It was fresh, seasoned well, and cooked to perfection. I have "been smacked." You can tell the coleslaw was freshly made. It was fresh and firm, not soggy and mushy. The fries were piping hot and fried to perfection. Not salty or cooked in old grease. They stand by their word that your food will be cooked when you place your order. My husband ordered the three-piece perch fish dinner plate. His two sides were coleslaw and fried okra. He had the same reaction with his food as I did with mine. Did I say we were in town from Nashville visiting family, and this was our first time visiting Uncle Larry's! When we are back in Chattanooga, we will definitely visit Uncle Larry's again! If you've never been to Uncle Larry's, I highly recommend you give them a visit. They have four different locations.

I ated a pig feet. I never had it because I am a white man and I don't know how to cook (my wife did before she got the divorce) so I be living off of packaged food like chips and ramen bricks. I don't know how to cook the brick and when I try to cook the cup ramen the fire alarm whent off. I got in trouble for arson and now I have to pay fines. When I have a few more dollar saved I will bring my daughter. My wife doesn't want me to see my daughter though. I would bring my wife here if she didn't divorce me. I wish I wasn't white. She told me our daughter got picked on because she is mixed. I wish I was black so my daughter wouldn't get picked on. There's also a smoke shop and a store that sells kratom if you feel adventurous. I bought a vape and some kratom and let me tell you kratom and uncle Larry mixes real good. My momma is in a wheelchair and is a mighty hefty heffer so I'm not sure she'd fit through the doors is my only complaint - but that's a city builder issue not the owner fault. They have very good green collards. Momma used to boil them in a big pot and the stems were very chewy. This place has no chewy stems and it taste good. I used to have to chew and swallow the collard in one big sludgy gulp and the greens would connect and string to each other and form a long noodle I'd have to keep gulping down. This place don't do that. They are pre. Chewed.

So I've been a foodie for years and my sister is like you should do videos which I have not yet. I started on TripAdvisor and this platform and Yelp. I saw the back story about this restaurant on line and said that I must try this delicious fish. My sister visited from Nashville Tennessee and this place is on the way to Atlanta GA. I got mom a 3 piece Perch plate and sis a 3 piece whiting plate. I got a 3 piece Perch plate and a 10; piece whiting fish plate fish only. I took a picture of my Perch plate and I put the whiting fish plate in the fridge. The hot sauce and tartar sauce compliment the fish. Delicious and crispy if they have a location down here it would be game over for some places ha lol. The whiting fish pieces are big not small at all. Whiting always have bones here and there not Perch. I grew up eating whiting and perch fish only in Savannah GA..If you are ever in the area pull up and support! I ate here...
