Usually Mr. Burrito is awesome. Really good food inexpensive but large food portions. And their food is seasoned to perfection. But, a good product doesn't necessarily drive the business completely, because you're also selling an experience. Yes, even in times like these customer service is still important.
During the hour of 3 o'clock I received the most rude service from a young woman working the register. First she wanted to argue with my partner about putting cheese on her quesadilla. "But you already have cheese", she said in a condescending tone. She was aware that she had Monterey Jack, but also wanted the cheddar blend. My partner had 2 quesadillas and I a burrito. Simple enough. Except for the fact that she couldn't be bothered to ring it up, let alone place it with our order. We added 1 bag of chips and 1 side of cheese dip. So tell me why I get home with 3 bags of chips and 0 cheese dip? So, I called back to inform her of the situation. I have her the name on the card, our descriptions, and the order. She again got rude stating "Well, we've had a lot of orders today!" Cool flex, but what does that have to do with reconciling my order? "
Cashier: "Well are you gonna come get it?"
We just spent like $40 bucks on food. And we're being talked to like we're bothering this person so much.....by forking over money to be spoken to like our heads are flower pots.
So, I get back and she hands me a 4oz cold cup of cheese dip. I ask her if she has a bigger size....you know for the 3 bags of chips. She points at the cup and glares back, like I'm a toddler or a dog. I have to ask again, do you have a bigger size? At this point, I don't even want to give her any more of my money, but I got chips and I want dip. So I buy more dip and leave the store.
Not only have I worked in the food industry from the time I was in high school. One of the first jobs that I actually had for a while was in a burrito shop. I've worked with the same products and I bet even kitchen equipment. Your style of cuisine isn't difficult, not really a hassle. But I could see that my partner and I were to you. And if you hate your job that much, find a new one.
To owners, I don't work all week for my pay to go to a restaurant on one of my only days off and get talked to like a scab by an employee who can't even remember to bag our food, who obviously has an attitude issue, and who uses excuses instead of just correcting her mistakes and moving along. Food joints in this city are a dime a dozen across the city. If you want to remain successful you might want to start at...
Read moreI love this place. Normally I don't give 5 stars but I eat here all the time and don't get tired of it. I only ever get the burrito or tacos and they're both great. They have beer and Jarritos and a soda fountain. You can get your food quick and sit at a table looking out at the road, feeling bad for the people driving by not enjoying a Mr. Burrito burrito like you are. They grill the burrito on both sides after they make it up to your liking and its amazing. The orange hot sauce is hot and delicious. The vegetables are always fresh. Always. Quality steak and chicken. 3 kinds of beans. Throw some pineapple in your burrito and if you don't like it then take it out and stuff it in your Corona and if you don't like that then I think you just ruined your Corona. If the staff seems to be dragging their feet and you want your food faster then tell them Chris sent you. They'll have no idea who you're talking about but it might make them nervous, and to get you out of there faster they could potentially speed it up. The salsa is friendly, if your friend likes to surprise you with a little spice. (Note: If you have that kind of friend then you might consider creating a more romantic relationship with them since I feel its going in that direction.) The chips are greasy - not a bad thing. And they don't give tattoos nor allow you to get a tattoo on the premises - also not...
Read moreI went to Mr. Burrito’s MLK location a few days ago. I’m vegetarian and my boyfriend is vegan. Normally we can eat at burrito style restaurant like this because all the ingredients are kept separately. However, we won’t be returning to Mr. Burrito ever again because of their contamination issues. There was meat in the grilled veggies and it was extremely obvious based off the taste and look they had grilled them in the same pan the meat was cooked in. Usually this wouldn’t be an issue because we would still be able to eat the rest of the toppings and we would just skip the grilled veggies. However the cheese and sour cream were mixed into the salsa and all over the counter. We were desperately hungry and decided to overlook the contamination issues but now we’ve both been sick for the past two days. I feel like this location did not used to be this bad and it is extremely disappointing. Do not go here if you have dietary restrictions the cross contamination is extremely bad. Places like Chipotle unfortunately have to be our go to. We miss Mojo Burrito...
