Worst experience that I had in a while (probably ever). Let me start out with the highlights of my time here. 1.The pizza was excellent as always, 2. the male bartender with longer hair (sorry, I didn't catch his name) was a total delight and was very engaging, 3. and one of the servers who brought the pizza down was very friendly and very apologetic for the mistake that was made with one of our pizzas!
I wasn't going to leave a review because I have only left 5 star reviews, but after reading some of the others, i knew I wasn't overreacting. As we got there, the bartender who we were later told was the manager, was NOT welcoming. The vibe that we all felt was not a good one but we stayed anyway. Myself and 2 others got there first. We ordered a shot and drinks. No problem there, however, as our group got larger (it was about 10 to 12 of us), the service became worse. Even to the point where some people in our group were trying to order food, etc, flagged the bartenders down, and were blantantly ignored. At this point a bartender with a facial piercing and tattoos also came to work our side of the bar and her attitue was even nastier than the manager's. One of the girls in our group saw her order being given to another group and yelled out "Hey" in an attempt to stop the server. The manager immediately came over and said that they do not tolerate yelling. Totally understandable, but after it was expressed in such a disgusting way with hand motions, etc, the person was too intimidated to even tell the manager what the issue was. Thankfully, the server realized the mistake on his own and corrected the issue (kudos to him). Moving forward 15 minutes or so, the same manager yelled from behind the bar to the steps letting some kids know that they can't come down because they're not 21. I feel like you lead by example and it wouldn't have hurt for her to walk over to the kids instead of calling them out for everyone to hear. In this instance, I thought to myself "So maybe yelling IS tolerated as long as it's done by staff"? A few other members in our group asked for another shot and the manager told them they have been there over 2 hours constantly taking shots and that we are all on camera. She stated that maybe if you all drink some water, we can serve you in 30 minutes!!!! I was confused because we arrived at 5:20ish and at this point, 8:11PM, I literally only had 2 shots. 1 secret shot and 1 peanut butter shot. Yes, at one point I did order 8 shots at once but it was for 8 different people. It wasn't like I took all 8 on my own. One of the guys who was with us asked the manager what the issue was since we were all just sitting around chit-chatting and the manager told him something about a new HR lady that was watching the cameras. I asked her since HR is watching your cameras are you not worried about her seeing you serve people alcohol without checking IDs? Her response was that we all "looked" of age. I let her know that people looking a certain way doesn't matter because there are restaurants who get their license suspended by the beer board all of the time for serving ppl who look like they're 21 but are only 19. One person in the group didn't even HAVE an ID with her at all. She just replied "we probably could get in trouble for that" and that was kind of the end of the convo.
I guess I was so lost for words with this whole situation because the bartenders at surrounding restaurants carry on conversations, know exactly what our orders are without us even saying anything, and always show positive and welcoming attitudes. Maybe it was my mistake for assuming that we would have the same experience here but I now know that everyone doesn't have the personality to bartend. This situation makes me appreciate other bartenders THAT much more and that's where I will continue to...
Read moreGoodfellas, Goodfellas, Goodfellas. Where should I start? I’ll make this a compliment sandwich with some very beefy complaints between the breads. First, the venue is cool and the overall atmosphere is great. The great atmosphere was however difficult to enjoy in our painstaking wait in line. When we first arrived we did not realize you ordered yourself at the register. This was totally fine so we hopped in line to wait to order. This line took over 30 minutes to order. The reason the wait was so long? I could write a dissertation on the inefficiency of the ordering system at Goodfellas. While in line, there were no menus available to browse so one would be ready when they arrived at the register. The menus that you could see on the monitors were vague and cryptic with absolutely no topping list. The lack of preparation due to lack of information led to many guests having several questions when they got to the register. Speaking of the register, oh dear the register. Once you finally reach your destination, there is one lone man taking orders. In a restaurant that can seat hundreds, one man is Goodfella’s front line. Not only is this man taking orders and answering questions people have because there is no menu, he is also answering the phone, cutting pizzas, and boxing up orders. Once we made it to the end of the rainbow this man took a few minutes to perform his other tasks and when he finally comes to take our order says “Just want to let y’all know it’s about an hour and fifteen minute wait on food.” This information would have been nice to know 30 minutes ago when we arrived. However, we had already made it this far so there was no turning back now. We ordered our pesto bread and our pie and thought we should get a drink or two (or three) during our wait. We discovered there was a downstairs lounge/bar for 21+ so we moseyed on down with our number. After fumbling for IDs we were given the go ahead by the bouncer. We were then able to wonder around for a seat but it wasn’t long before two patrons at the bar got up and we swooped in to steal their plush thrones (bar stools). Once we were seated we discovered you are able to order from the bar!!!! That’s right, you can order your pesto bread and pie from the bar. Who knew? Not us. This information would have been nice to know 40 minutes prior but the exclusivity of knowing what the heck is going on in the establishment does have intrigue. We were greeted by Brianna and man this girl was on top of it. Unlike everyone else in the building, she was calm, cool, and collected and knew exactly what was going on. You COULD NOT catch this girl slipping. Some people may say she should be running the establishment and those people are us. Someone should give her a raise, a promotion, or the key to the store. She made a mojito and specialty drink like no other. After about 40 minutes our pesto bread was delivered and was absolutely delicious. The wait did not even seem like it was 40 minutes because of the lively atmosphere, Brianna, amazing drinks, and the ability to actually sit down. After another drink and another 40 minutes our pie arrived. The pie in one word? Slay. This pie gave me feelings I haven’t felt in a while and I do have to thank Goodfellas for that. After stuffing ourselves with pie we boxed up our leftovers, closed our tabs with Brianna, and headed out. Overall a great experience once we ordered. However, the cluster of the ordering system upstairs should not be ignored. Would recommend others to come and if you are 21+ take it from me, order downstairs. Good fellas, good pizza, good vibes, good drinks, tragic upstairs ordering...
Read moreI go here often for a few slices or the cheese bread which are both great. The only thing that slightly bothers me is several of the workers seem to have that ‘indifferent’ attitude. It’s not a big thing, and I’m not looking for a pat on the back or a hug or anything like that but when someone orders for takeout and they are told it will be 15 minutes and they get there about 20 minutes or so and give their name for their takeout and you tell them ‘We haven’t made it yet. It will be about 25 minutes’….At least give that customer an apology or offer to comp the item(I would have still paid for it but the offer and/or a quick apology would have been appreciated). Not all are like that though. Some of the people I have dealt with are great and eager to serve while some seem apathetic and bored with the whole situation. I’m not writing this to be sarcastic but someone should seriously make it a priority to improve the customer service. I like the place and it’s too bad that every time I go there I have to wonder whether I am burdening the staff with my presence and I get philosophical when it comes to the tip because I think I tip decent at the very least (last visit tipped $14 on a $20 order) but I always question it because, often, the person I’m dealing with doesn’t deserve a tip but I think the tips are shared and some of the workers are great. Basically, it just sucks to spend your money and get bad service repeatedly. I will continue to patron the place and I would also recommend it. I just hope the service can be polished a little. Acting like you care, even if it is fake, goes a long way and means something to someone spending their money there instead of the 1,000 other places they could have Edit: I have been back several times, including tonight and I had to come back and edit my earlier review. The service was fast and courteous. I was greeted immediately and my order I had placed online was checked on and quickly brought out, even with a line that was 20 deep and an hour before closing. Any negative statements that I mentioned in the original, earlier review don’t apply now. What ever the issue was it was resolved. For...
