Maggiano's Little Italy — Restaurant in Cherry Hill Township

My husband and I went here tonight for are 2 year anniversary. We have been here multiple times and it’s always been good. We were seated then waited about 7 minutes for are waitress to come by. She was nice, asked if we wanted water and anything else to drink. She took are drink order as well as appetizers. We got are drinks and she took are entree order, I ordered the filet medium rare and my husband order fettuccine Alfredo. I then asked for bread as we didn’t receive any(all other tables around us got seated, greeted, water filled and bread) We got are appetizers first, one came out and we had to wait about 5-7 minutes for the second one. When the waitress came to check on us I asked for the bread we never got, after we finished are appetizers then we got are bread. I asked for oil thinking I was getting the oil and seasonings, wrong I got oil and grated cheese. I couldn’t find are waitress so I asked the floor manager, he stated that the customer must specify if they would like oil with seasoning as it’s new policy.( that should have been told in the beginning) finally we got are food my medium rare steak was a rare steak with purple in the middle. Yet again I couldn’t find are waitress so I got the floor manager again. He took it back to get cooked, about 8-10 minutes later he comes back same steak which is fine they put a blob of butter where I cut it, I moved the butter it looked as if it never got put back on the stove to cook. The manager then said that they would refire it, okay that was fine. He came back out, this steak was worse than the first one. My husband had started eating his food as 1 it was getting cold and 2 total it was about 30-40 minutes of waiting. My experience was downright ridiculous, I was upset the whole time. Throughout the night I was angry and expressing my self to my husband all the servers were giving me rude looks from the moment I sent back my steak. I should also mention I spoke with another manager about my situation, she was rude tried to speak over me and not fully listening to what I was saying. Decided to stop in here on the way out of the mall tonight and i left so disgusted with what i witnessed i felt like i had to at least write a review. I sat up at the bar and Jules and Hugh were bartending. i think Hugh was training. they were both absolute gems! Hugh helped me pick my dish (delish!) and Jules had such a positive and welcoming attitude! In our conversation, i had mentioned traveling to Italy with the army and Hugh even took a moment to thank me for my service. So kind. I was considering making this a regular spot for me until their manager came up to the bar. He interrupted our conversation to ask them if one of them ordered something that was “on the screen” they said it was their training food and he said he would not be buying it for them. they had a little banter back and forth which i thought was joking because jules and hugh were smiling but then the manager said “you do not have the right as bartender to order steak, if you want free steak you should of been a manager, like me. And i don’t think you could be that if you tried.” and swiftly walked away before allowing either of them to answer. they both looked confused. hugh left the bar and when he came back he looked visibly upset. i asked what happened ( being nosey but the manager had started this infront of me so by now i was invested) and the manager had packed their food up for himself! That was extremely unprofessional. Just the way he came up interrupting our conversation was rude. he never said a word to me not an excuse me sir or anything. Jules and hugh made my night but if this is the way the management treats such incredible staff i couldn’t possibly support paying that man’s salary. i felt so bad watching them get treated that way. how he spoke down to them both. on the way out the door i asked someone for the managers name so i could write this review and they said Mario. Update: Yesterday was our third time coming here and I was so disappointed. I expected better since the last two visit here were wonderful so wonderful that my son requested coming here for his 9th birthday. Well our waitress was not great, at least not like the one we had for Mother’s Day. Anyways, we ordered our food and told her we were celebrating our son birthday. The appetizer and our kids food was done at a good time, she said our food will be out soon. We sit there for almost 30 minutes if not more. At this point I’m already irritated because both the kids were done with their plate and ready to go. I told my husband to let them know I wanted our check because this is ridiculous. The point of us wanting to go out and eat at a restaurant to celebrate our son birthday was to eat together as a family. Our waitress came back to say the food should be out in a minute but I explained to her that we were ready to go because we wanted to eat as a family and my kids are already done eating she said that normally the kids get their food first. Which it’s no problem at all but when you’re waiting for 30 minutes or more to get your own food it’s ridiculous. It shouldn’t have took that long. Moreover, the manager did try to make it better but we told him we just wanted to leave he apologized he also gave us our food to go for free. I honestly don’t know if I will be returning here today kinda killed the mood.
