TLDR: I received terrible customer service from the manager at this location and he attempted to debate with me about Taro and his interpretation of good customer service practices instead of just replacing my drink or telling me that he can’t replace it. My drink was literally Taro chunks and milk. It was tasteless and not worth $7.75!
I’ve been to this location a few times and everything was great. However, today’s visit was drastically different. I wanted to try one of their coffee drinks but they shut their coffee machine down because they were closing in an hour. That was disappointing, but they were apologetic and I just decided to try something else. I ordered the Taro Milk Tea, and the person who took my order did inform me that there were “chunks of Taro” in the drink, which is different, but I was expecting some flavor to the actual milk portion of the tea as well.
What I received was literally just whole milk with Taro chunks. I tried to mix it up but it still tasted very bland. I just couldn’t drink it. I calmly explained to the cashier that the drink wasn’t what I thought it would be and I asked if they could possibly make me something else. The cashier said okay but she needed to check with her boss first, which is understandable.
The boss came out and immediately became defensive after I explained that I’ve never had Taro Milk Tea that tasted bland like that. I was calm while I said this and I apologized for having to say that it was bland. I was just trying to be honest, not make them feel bad about the drink. I explained that the Taro Milk Tea I get from other places tastes much different, but he got really defensive once I mentioned Kung Fu Tea, and immediately said “well, we’re not Kung Fu Tea” and tried to explain what Taro was to me, but I already knew what Taro was.
I found his demeanor to be extremely condescending and I let him know that his customer service was terrible. He continued to make condescending statements to me, including that he’s “been doing customer service longer than me” and that he’s not required to make me anything else. I understand that he’s not required to make me anything else, but why escalate the situation even further by saying that to a customer?
I believe that the manager was more interested in proving that I didn’t know what Taro was instead of actually resolving my issue. I just simply wanted something else. The drink was not good and paying $7.75 for milk and Taro chunks is unreasonable. I figured that if I just asked for something else, it would be better received than me asking for a refund. I wasn’t trying to get a free drink. I just wanted something palatable.
He eventually asked me if I wanted them to make me something different, but I was very offended and upset by this time. I explained to him that he should have asked me that from the beginning, instead of trying to “explain” all these things to me about Taro and how Mr. Wish is different than other places. I ended up just leaving and not taking the replacement drink. It wasn’t worth it and I just wanted to get away from the negative energy.
I’m not advising that no one ever visits this location. Just ask DETAILED questions about anything you order, because they aren’t very amenable to resolving...
Read moreVery disappointed as I drove out of my way to this location to get told that the boba was still cooking and it wouldn’t be ready for another 1/2 hr. This was only 15 minutes after opening. Poor planning by the staff to not have one of the key ingredients for their drinks prepared prior to opening. I had been to this location around this time once before without issue. This is unacceptable to open a store not...
