First let me start this review by saying I love pizza I could literally eat it everyday thin crust deep dish in between. That being said if the opportunity arises for me to try something in my city that has yet to hit my taste buds I'm always happy to oblige. In this particular instance I was familiar with the pizza from this establishment. They first started having pizzas when they had a fine dining full service Italian restaurant downtown that's when I first tried it it was delicious. Then I had the pleasure of having the same Pizza a few times in the suburbs when I would happen upon one of their locations even through the drive-through my pizza came out perfectly cooked just enough flavor and the sauce the sausage the cheese in the crust together to make it a delicious pie.
Tonight's pizza was not anything like that it was Bland. It tasted like it needed more sauce or like the sauce needed more something. I couldn't pinpoint it. But let's just say that I was more than a little angry after waiting more time than I was told to have something that I could barely choke down. If I hadn't been working a double shift I would have just turned around and brought it back but as it was I had to get back to work I didn't have any more time and I wouldn't have any other food until tomorrow. Even with that I couldn't make myself finish it it just was not good. don't normally have to Salt my food and I certainly don't think to salt a pizza which I didn't in this case but it definitely felt like it needed a level of flavor up. it also took much longer than they said 5 to 10 minutes it was more like 15 to 20 and I was in a hurry.
I don't know if they changed the ingredients that they use in the pizza or they don't make the sauce anymore. Or if I just got some older dough combined with a flat sauce. Before today I would have said it's a great place to stop in and get Italian beef along with a tasty Little Italian Pizza. However currently my pizza endorsement stands as don't do it stick to an Italian
I started to call the restaurant to tell them how I felt but honestly there were four employees that I could see and the two who were in the front the two different young ladies I don't think they would have care not even a little bit. Which is unfortunate when they may not think of money as hard-earned but I...
Read moreRUDE STAFF. On all accounts the behavior and tones of the workers were off putting to say the least. My order was missing items and I called to get a refund and was told the only solutions involoved going back to the store. Even though I paid with card I could apparently only be refunded in cash which didnt make sense to me. I was missing items in the first place because it was a meal and the first worker didnt ask me what I wanted in the selections. Im told she put her choices on the counter by the register and I was supposed to know thta they were mine and I am at fault as well for not taking them with me. She was very nonchalant about her job.
Then, when I called and was told id have to come back to the store even though it was clear that i didnt have the itrms, he offered me a free meal or credits. I told him Id take it but Id really rather a refund and not return to the store he caught an attitude. Saying that I could call back if I had a problem with him. I told him I didnt and was on my way back to the store. He just kept repeating that I left the items, that I was never told were mine.
Plus I went all the way back, and you know what my options were then? No credits, no refund, and no 'free meal' just the two drinks I wanted a refund for. Yes, I went all the way back just to be given two drinks that I once again wasnt even asked what kind or flavor I wanted.
This was consecutively the second and third time id been here and I would...
Read moreI will admit that I was getting a little burned out on Italian Beef. I tried it for the first time a decade ago on a trip to Chicago and I loved it. I returned home to Seattle and there was not a single place I could find that carried it. I enjoyed it during subsequent trips to AZ, CA and even NY but then I moved to las Vegas, which has a significant number of Chicago ex-pats and I may have overdone it.
My wife had never been to Chicago so we booked a getaway right before Christmas. On our first day, we were meeting up with some friends and I wanted to grab a hot dog before we headed out. Buona was right around the corner from our hotel so we headed in for a quick bite. I'll never get sick of Chicago dogs so I ordered a couple and my wife ordered a standard Italian Beef. I pounded my dogs, which were excellent and then my wife tapped out and offered me the other half of her sandwich, which she said was outstanding. I didn't want food to go to waste and I had some room left so I ate it and my love of the beef was rekindled on the spot. It was one of the best I'd had. The service and the restaurant were all great and we'll be back for sure. I've even had a couple since returning home to LV....
