My friends and I had a reservation for happy hour. Unfortunately I was running late but my friends were fortunately able to be seated and order.
When I finally arrived I told the bouncer that my party had a reservation and were already seated. I was told that I couldn’t go in I had to wait in line only for other people who did and didn’t have a reservation to walk in. I told the bouncer that my party was waiting for me and were already seated he grew agitated and told me that he couldn’t let more people in and they were busy only for him to let more people in…
At this point, I’m confused because how are you busy and can’t let people in but you still are…. On top of that my friends were already seated and waiting for me. The waitress for our table had to talk the bouncer into letting me in only for the bouncer and his manager to still block us out and let in two other groups of people before letting my friend (who came out to get me) and I in.
The bouncer who grew agitated for whatever reason asked the guys behind me if they were with us. I thought he was referring to me given That he already blocked my entrance about two times before and he never verbally specified . I told him I was with my friend who came out to get me and he decides to yell in my face in front of his manager and the manager block me out AGAIN all because I responded back to the guy who yelled in my face.
I won’t be back. It just doesn’t make sense to repeatedly block someone out who is joining a party that’s already in your establishment. My friends were sitting at a booth so the “crowdedness” they tried to say was happening didn’t make sense— my spot was saved at the booth we were sitting at. It doesn’t also make sense to say you’re busy/ crowded only to let in multiple groups after you blocked me out. Lastly to yell in my face after you didn’t make it clear who you were taking to in he first place and your manager is watching is trash af.
Our waitress was very nice and shout out to her for telling the rude ass bouncer and manager to let me in because my party was already there.
The food was even all that good. The...
Read moreSo, here’s the thing…this wasn’t my first time at Chalet, just my first time actually sitting down to eat. That made this review a little harder to write because I’ve had good experiences here before. But this time? Not so much.
I stopped in for a quick bite before heading upstairs to join the post-Wit crew… and never made it upstairs. Why? Because I spent the whole time waiting on my food.
The Breakdown:
Service started off strong. Our server, Bre, greeted us right away and took our order quickly, which we appreciated. My friend and I both ordered wings and fries.
The wait was longer than expected. After a while (about 30 minutes in, if not more), Bre let us know that the kitchen might have run out of wings. She asked what we’d want instead just in case, so we switched to a flatbread pizza and fries. I want to add that we had to rush to choose a replacement because the kitchen was also closing.
The final wait dragged. Bre later confirmed there were no wings, but that she had put our replacement order in, and then more time passed before the flatbread and fries finally arrived. By that point, we’d been waiting way too long for food that, honestly, wasn’t worth the wait in terms of taste or presentation.
To be fair, we did speak with someone who seemed to be in charge that night. Mainly about our frustrations with having to wait twice for one meal. He acknowledged the oversight, which we appreciated. It also seemed like Bre was the only server on staff that night, but she tried her best to manage everything and again, we appreciate her effort to keep us updated as soon as she could. We weren’t trying to cause a scene—just giving feedback to a place we actually want to support. And that’s exactly why I’m writing this.
Everyone upstairs seemed to have a blast, but Chalet isn’t just an upstairs club. The experience should be just as solid on both floors. When patrons walk in, they should feel the same level of care…whether they’re grabbing a drink, dancing, or sitting down for a meal.
Would I come back? Probably. But next time, I’ll eat before...
Read moreCame here a couple months ago to celebrate my birthday and had a great time. Music, vibes, food + service were all nice. ( Maybe it’s because we sat at the bar that time around? Who knows) This past weekend? Not so much. Because of my previous experience I decided to bring some friends here to have a good time & try the food. Over an hour wait for 8 wings , fries and a burger. Finally got the food after waiting so long and both orders were incorrect. Only received 4/8 wings I ordered and my friend received a burger with everything on it EXCEPT for what she asked for. Only 3 tables had ordered food so I really didn’t understand the wait but that wasn’t a problem initially. After waiting another 30 mins, the rest of my order still hadn’t come out. At this point I no longer wanted the food. I was ready to go and get a quicker meal somewhere else so I asked to send the food back. Our server was very nice about the situation however the “manager” that came out to speak to us was not. No introduction regarding who she was or anything and was giving us an attitude as if we’d done something wrong LOL… Not sure if the server was intimidated by her or what but she went on to state that we never mentioned certain specifications of the items we originally order which made me upset because what??? Make it make sense. As someone who has worked in hospitality/food service, management for YEARS her behavior was completely unprofessional and rude. And as a way to compensate for their mistakes, the best they could do was offer a free shots. ??? I came to eat not for alcohol. She did apply a $6 discount to our bill but overall I feel the situation could’ve been handled much better. Can’t say I’d go back but hopefully with the reviews I’m seeing they make some adjustments for 2024. It was very embarrassing to hype this place to others only for us to receive...
