Great place to stay with your family. I wouldn't suggest it for a couples weekend getaway but it might depend on you. Very cool modern setup. The lack of carpet makes it kind of noisy. Adequate accommodations that are close to Michigan avenue. We got a Grand Opening price rate which wasn't bad. Not sure how much it will go up though. Parking is the biggest issue here. You either pay to park in the street or try to find free street parking in the surrounding blocks. We went to a private parking garage in the next block over it was $30 for 24 hrs. We stayed in a room with a queen bed and double bunk beds over the top. The setup was different but unique. The bathroom is kind of small but neat and clean. They have breakfast in the basement that was very basic. But they have a full kitchen also that you can use to cook whatever you'd like. There are also some neat things in the basement for recreation. There are two large slot car tracks to use, you have to inquire at the front desk about them. They also have a ping pong table, air hockey and foosball to play with. We enjoyed the place and would stay again.

A curious little inn that exists on Boston. It's located in one of the nicer areas in the city. Despite being right next to a train rail and subway station, there was hardly any noise and I was able to sleep soundly thanks to thick walls originally from a warehouse. The entire building is a sports themed inn with a basement game room and kitchen dining area. The main floor is a internet cafe with tv's and a secure storage area. Second floor is the various modern furnished rooms. The rooms for the matter have new heavy duty bunk beds, kitchen including microwave & sink, flat screen tv, great standing shower in a furnished bathroom, small closet with security boxes that can be fitted with your own locks, and a table with chairs. Best of all, no traces of pests like nice, roaches, or bed bugs pretty much the ideal place to have. Heck I almost wish I was renting it as a studio apartment. Overall it was a nice experience and I do welcome any Boston new comers to try it out.

Cute sports themed hotel/hostel. Private room was ok. The common areas were great for socializing and working. Make sure to check out the slot cars in the basement game room. They were a unique and fun addition. I would stay in the dorm next time - I imagine it is more fun as a communal experience and a better deal than the private room.

We stayed in the women dorms for 4 nights. The overall stay was fine because of the price and also because we only spent our sleeping time there. I didn't get much sleep since it's a dorm and ppl are coming and going and I'm a light sleeper but again for the price I can't complain too much.

Dorm Beds: great size, comfortable and sheets are cleans. We checked for bed bugs and thankfully we did not find any and also did not leave with bits Amen! So thank you for being clean fieldhouse Jones

Dorm Shared Bathroom (4ppl in a room): was flash back to college. I loved that the towels were shiny white. I also loved that the toilet was a super flush although loud I appreciated it because it leaves nothing behind and hard to stop up. The bathroom design is also nice. My issue with the bathroom is that it wasn't well cleaned even though it's small. It's better than a motel cleaning but could be better or mirror European cleaned hostels. For all 4 nights there was hair in the shower and on the bathroom floor after it was cleaned. The shower and toilet had opportunity areas as well but again i didn't feel like something was going to crawl on me but I did use shower shoes and wrap the toilet with seat covers.

General space: awesome. Whoever designed the space has amazing taste and sense of design. The only bit that I would change is removing the toy train game down stairs that doesn't work and having sofas or couches for ppl to chill, read or watch TV.

Pros: -Price -Bed comfort -General space -location

Con: -Sharing a room (if you are a light sleeper not ideal bc of opening and closing or doors) -bathroom needs better cleaning ( staff should receive bonuses for consistent good inspections and bathrooms should be inspected after every clean)

Would I return if everything was the same? Yes because of the price.

I think this place has great potential but the most critical is keeping the place very clean and pest free. So cleaning should be top priority to keep this hostel hotel a special...

This was my family's first time staying in a hostel. I admit when we first got to Fieldhouse Jones, the exterior and location had my family a bit worried. However, once we got inside, our concerns faded. The staff was incredibly friendly, the lobby was clean and the sports-themed decor was pretty cool. We got checked in easily and went to our room.

The bed setup worked great for our family. My two teenaged girls liked the lofted bunked beds. The room was a bit narrow, but it worked well for us. Even though we were right next to the train tracks, the noise wasn't bad at all! We enjoyed the breakfast downstairs, which was bagels and cereal. There was also fresh fruit, oatmeal and coffee.

The facility is clean, well-lit and the funky art and sports decor made it interesting. They apparently have slot car races from time to time in the basement. and there are games both in the basement and the lobby area to play. In the basement, there's ping pong, air hockey and foosball.

The location was close to the train station and made getting around easier. We opted to pay for on-site parking, which was a little expensive, but worth it to not have to drive all over to find spots when we went out and about.

The only unpleasant part of the stay was when we left. As we went to the side lot to get our car, we were greeted by a large rat. This is not the venue's fault, of course. We were in the city and it happens. But, it was still a little disconcerting.

The entire family said we'd stay there again. Thanks for making our first trip to Chicago memorable and...

When making the reservation I knew that I'd only need the room/bed to rest in between traveling 22 hours/and appointments at the Hospital. One of the questions while reserving the room was arrival time because I'd just landed and didn't know what the transportation was going to be I estimated a couple of hours. I'd been fasting for labs and already fell getting out of the van from weakness, I told the representative at the desk I wanted to check in. She asked for my ID I gave it to her she said she checked me in but couldn't let me in the room until 3. I tried explaining that I specified the time because of appointments she said there wasn't anything she could do that I could sit and wait till 3. We went back and forth because I was so weak and sitting next to her another representative took control of the situation like magic a room was available. I have nothing to compare it to because I've not stayed here before, I needed to lay down there was a bed clean linen and I was so thankful. The review I want to leave is there is always a way to serve, you just have to want to. There is an exception to every policy you just to be willing to find it. Life isn't all that and a bag of chips for everybody everyday you just have to put yourself in another person's shoes before shrugging your shoulders like that's your problem not mine. Be careful about how you treat the least of them. And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me....
