This review is about the teacher training
My genuine evaluation of this studio, which offers Pilates Sports Center training, is that the instructors here don't really teach you anything, so I would not recommend the program at all.
they send you two to three-hour recordings of them going over every exercise you will learn for that week before they meet with you in person to discuss and do the exercises briefly in four to five hours over the weekend. I feel like they chose to set up the program in this way to be easy and convenient for them students are paying about 6k to learn from experienced professionals not a video they recorded some years ago as the main source of learning
They essentially just give you the course materials and expect you to learn everything on your own by reading the book and watching the video. If you need more assistance from them, you will have to pay them. Mandie and Angie are unhelpful and only provide you with the bare minimum. I recall them telling us to use the tutoring option if we needed extra help at least two-three times during every in-person session. I need to pay extra money on top of the 6k to get more help from you ??
Students can practice for free with one another, but they also need to practice on a non-student, for which they charge $25 each time. We should not be charging individuals so much money to practice on them as students this is greed on the part of the studio. I am familiar of many studios where students are free to practice with anyone without charge.
You would think the 6k you pay to them would include free studio practice with whoever but not here at Amplifed
Again I would not recommend this studio for teacher training in any way
As for the Pilates Sports Center training it’s not very good I don’t recommend getting your certification through PSC program
I would say PSC is okay for continuing education but not for...

After speaking with a few studios around Chicago who offer teacher training, I landed on Amplified because of the reputation the studio and owner have as the premier pilates destination in the city.I embarked on my teacher training with no background in teaching fitness or movement - I felt like a total fish out of water but fully committed to the process accepting that I was going to initially feel awkward and clueless. THAT IS OK - that is when growth happens!
In retrospect, I can now fully appreciate the approach and framework that Amplified and PSC provided. Angie and Mandie taught us to CRITICALLY THINK as instructors so that we can safely, effectively teach to the body in front of us (vs just learning exercise choreography and teaching on auto pilot). Having a full time corporate job, I benefited tremendously from the blended and flexible approach of video/on-demand learning and in-studio immersion weekends so that I could balance learning on MY schedule. Truly, this program is amazing. The way Amplified taught us the exercises/modifications/variations, the practical tips from real life client experience, the observation, practice teaching, the knowledge check-points; it all helped me retain what seemed like an impossible volume of information. Most importantly, the excellence Angie and Mandie expected from us in our program is because they genuinely care about their students and the caliber of instructors they are sending out...
Read moreI’ve had the great pleasure of private sessions with Angie at Amplified Pilates for over 10 years. I have watched her evolution from being a pilates instructor at a private health club to starting her own studio and building it to the amazing space it is today.
She has been fully invested in my health and has customized my sessions based on what my body needs. I am a runner and I am certain that my running style and endurance has improved greatly because of the exercises she tailors to match my needs.
A few years ago, I was diagnosed with Runner’s Knee and required months of physical therapy. Angie asked for my physical therapist’s phone number and contacted her directly about what she could be doing on her end to help with the therapy. My therapist was amazed that someone would go out of their way to make sure I was getting all of the help I needed.
Angie is patient, knowledgeable and passionate about her work. She has very high standards for herself and her business—you can see that from the moment you walk into the studio. I’ve had sessions with a few of the other instructors and each reflect that same level of knowledge and motivational support.
If you’re looking for an environment where you will leave feeling stronger, more balanced and more connected to your body, schedule a private session at Amplified Pilates with Angie or join a class with any of the instructors. You...
