Griddle 24 — Restaurant in Chicago

I used to be almost every night client if not dining in I was ordering thru uber eats but last night the servent got me pissed off big time, and I'm not going to order nor stop to eat here as long I see the same servent in this place, for instance how anyone else would react in my situation as a long time client who spend so much money and always left generous tips every single time I stopped there to eat and then this lady makes me wait 30 min to just come and get my order, ok let's say it's acceptable was a lot of people, but after to wait for my order 2 hours and other servent at one point got my dessert, i belive she taught i eat already because she clearly seen me waiting for a longer period but my servent nowhere around my table not even to ask me if I'm ok or if I need anything else, and at one point i asked someone else what's going on with my food Cus I was hungry as hell and he said "idk" but my servent had plenty of time for talking to other employees and laughing but just that her job was left for someone else, nd at this point I started getting mad and asked the guy from the front and only then he got my food 2hours and 40 minutes later and the dessert i had it already for 40 minutes in front of me. So let me be straight and i hope the owner sees this comment because i have quite a bit of influence here when I leave comments I WON'T GO EAT NOR ORDER ANYMORE AND I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO NO ONE UNTIL THE EMPLOYEE ISSUE WILL BE SOLVED, I BELIVE THIS SERVENT DOESN'T LIKE HER JOB AND SHE NEEDS TO FIND A DIFFERENT ONE, I NEVER HAD ANY ISSUE WITH NOBODY ELSE AND I BELIVE IS ALREADY KNOW ABOUT WHO I'M TALKING ABOUT BECAUSE I BET 1 MILTON $ THAT I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT HAVE ISSUE WITH THE MISS CARELESS EMPLOYEE THE MONTH.SINCE SHE STARTED WORKING HERE I DON'T BELIVE SHE LET NO ONE ELSE TO GET THE WORSE EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH SHE KEPT IT FOR HER SELF EVEN WHEN OTHERS HAD A BAD DAY SHE SAVED THEM. While in town for a concert we DoorDashed some late night munchies. We ordered the chicken kabob meal, the Monte Cristo, the Club Sandwich, and some hash browns. The chicken kabobs were good. Flavor was on point, slightly charred, seasoned well. It comes with a generous portion of rice, iceberg lettuce, fixins like onions, tomatoes, cukes, Tzatziki sauce, and 4 pieces of fried pita. The only downside to this meal is the 2 kabobs are so, so small compared to the rest of what you get, so you're mainly eating rice/salad. The Monte Cristo was mediocre and flavorless. The potato salad was even worse, with no flavor or seasoning (took 2 bites and threw the rest away). The club sandwich was decent. Again, mostly flavorless, but noticed there was real turkey used so at least it's not some ultra processed cheap lunch meat. The club sandwich meal came with a generous portion of fries but they, too, were bland and unseasoned (also no ketchup was given with the order). The hash browns were, by far, the most disrespectful potatoes I've ever had in my life. I didn't know you could mess up hash browns, but now I do. These aren't your normal shredded crispy hash browns. They're wide, weird scrags of potatoes, with no crispiness whatsoever and a flavor reminiscent of wet cardboard and drywall. I have never tasted a worse potato dish. I find it hard to comprehend how they could've actually removed the potato flavor from these hash browns but here we are.

Overall this place was less than mediocre, 4/10 stars. This place gets stars for large portion sizes, decent prices, and fast service. That said, unless you're desperate for food, I would go elsewhere. We DoorDashed so maybe the food is better in person consistency wise, but the lack of seasoning and flavor makes me think I'd just be disappointed sitting in their establishment rather than my hotel room. Will not be eating here again unless there's...

'Griddle 24' is the best for steak and eggs please come here. I recommend this place because I eat here all the time. I'm just a customer nothing more.. Note,; Don't go to Tempo Cafe because they charge too much more for only an 8 oz steak, Here at griddle 24 I get a 12 oz steak for even less and it's a great steak the skirt steak is the best and they don't charge me extra for pancakes,, at Temple Cafe they charge you for pancakes without option of toaster or pancakes, Temple Cafe is a ripoff.. I come here to 'Griddle 24' all the time and they're great people they give you a great smile they know how to treat customers. The eggs are beautiful and over easy the hash browns are made soft if you like them that way and the pancakes are fluffy as hell. Even at takeout they give you plenty of ingredients to take with, syrup plenty of butter and Worcestershire / A1 options. Especially many places charging an extra $2 for takeout... This place a mere 60 cents. That I can handle.. again this place is the best. I highly recommend it and as you know me very well I hardly recommend decent places but this place is the best.
