Ah, where do I start? I was visiting Chicago, and I was very hungry. I could see cocobar from my hotel window. It was calling my name. I NEEDED to go there before I left. Cute atmosphere. Cute location. Felt like a movie set. Just about a perfect atmosphere besides the guy sleeping by the water fountain and the pigeons roaming around looking for food. Pigeons aren’t scared and may walk right near you. Only the tables right near the riverwalk are where you can actually see it. Those seats get taken up quickly. While under trees you would think there would be a lot of bugs but I didn’t see any. If it’s very busy the waiter/waitress may have a difficult time finding you to bring you your food. Margaritas are fresh as can be with the cashier shaking it up right in front of you. People under 21 or above 21 if they want are able to get a non alcoholic lemonade by choosing a flavor (I recommend blood orange for margs/lemonade) and are able to get a rim of rather salt, sugar, chamoy, mango chamoy which I reccomend the mango chamoy the most. The tacos are full of flavor especially if you get the chipotle chicken or Al pastor pork. Chips and queso are good. Guac can be added for the tacos on the side at 4 dollars. A bit much for the amount you get. And yes, I acknowledge this place is pricey but it’s worth it. The churro sunade is really the bomb. The vanilla ice cream is really vanilla bean ice cream but it’s very good. The churros are small but good. Horchata was great as well with a nice cinnamon flavor that reminded me of chai. Cocobar just has some unmatched incredible aura. Must try in Chicago. I hope to be back. It was a life changing experience at cocobar. It really changes your life for the better, so if you think it’s gonna get worse, it won’t. As long as you head over to cocobar immediately. From the bottom of my heart, Thank you cocobar for...

Small yet relaxing atmosphere w/ the sound of waterfalls and Latin music playing.

It’s located right next to the bridge where you can enjoy watching the cruise boats, people kayaking and people walking the path below.

This isn’t a dine-in type of restaurant. You walk in the entrance, order & pay first at the counter, then find yourself an open table.

Ordered the recommended Prickly Pear frozen Margarita & it’s packed w/ a POWERFUL PUNCH of tequila. Also, it was just a nice amount of sweetness that I would get again.

Didn’t try any food, just came from Kitchen + Kocktails down the street but passed by CoCoBar and wanted to try their drinks on the way back home & happy that I did. 😊

Side note: they have ice cream bars for children (or anyone...

my boyfriend and i ate here this weekend and to say it’s mid would be generous. the margaritas were tolerable but didn’t taste too great. my boyfriend ordered loaded nachos but what he received wasn’t very loaded. the nacho toppings were literally on like 4 of the tortilla chips. plus they didn’t ask him if he wanted any meat on the nachos, and he requested no sour cream but it was still present. i got the empanadas with bbq chicken, but i didn’t really taste the bbq-ness. they were alright, but reminded me of something i’d put in a microwave. the craziest part was that all this added up to $70?? i mean the prices are obviously on the menu, but we were more so in disbelief and honestly pretty bummed we paid so much on this place. the...

Great margarita choices and the kids loved the paletas. A great option for a quick break and snack!

I’ve been to several riverwalk cafes, bars, and restaurants, but none of them stand out quite like Cocobar. The drink and food menus are extensive, and everything we ordered was high quality too, unlike a lot of places in the area that serve watered down beverages and two tortilla chips. Portion sizes are generous; we ordered chips and guac and were pleasantly surprised to see such a huge portion of guacamole. I appreciate that they not only have harder-to-find drink flavors (prickly pear, passionfruit, tamarind) but also plenty of tasty non-alcoholic beverages too (like Cafe de Olla which has cinnamon, star anise, and orange peel). Plenty of seating too. We’ll be back!
