Deep Purpl - Acai Bowls — Restaurant in Chicago

Went in today because of the suggestion of some girls that work at lululemons. Ordered 2 smoothies. Asked if she had whey protein powder, lady said yes. Ordered the deep yellow & deep green, both with whey protein powder. After we paid I saw she put in vegan vanilla protein powder, not whey. The deep yellow was extremely thick & lacked smoothie in the cup, about 3 inches from the lid. It wasn’t filled. I pointed it out to the girl & said she had no more, sorry. We left & it tasted way too sweet so we returned & stated it wasn’t made right. It’s too sweet & too think.. We’d like the deep purple smoothie with no protein. She made it, with an attitude, didn’t refund the fee for the protein powder. Walked out with the deep purple smoothie & that was soo watered down. Tasted like water with seeds. Someone please teach the employees customer service & smoothie making skills. I’d like a refund too. PS. Left her a cash tip too before the smoothies were even made. Fantastic - I love a good açaí bowl, but you’d be surprised how hard it is to get a GOOD açaí bowl. I stopped by Purpl on my way to the Salt Shed for a concert. I had a build your own bowl, and my husband got the Chocolate PB heaven. I got the 16oz size, which was perfect for how hungry I was. Dmitri was our server and he was so kind and welcoming. He brought out cups out to us once they were ready. This might sound nitpicky, but he actually LAYERED all the ingredients together, which is AWESOME. We’ve been coming to Deep Purple on North Avenue every day — it’s hands-down our favorite spot for açaí bowls. We even tried the Lincoln Park location, but nothing beats the quality and consistency at this one.
