Dollop is an order at the counter coffee-shop with multiple locations south of the river in downtown Chicago. There are many coffee options including drips, pour-overs and an Impressive tea collection as well.

I had a drip coffee which was bold enough, though I still haven’t had my fantasy dark, bold, non-acidic, not too bright coffee in Chicago.

My wife had the green jasmine tea which compared to the one she had yesterday which had a more jasmine/floral presence, this one was heavy on the green and not so much on the jasmine / floral. She remarked she could have just ordered a ā€œgreen teaā€.

They have Vegetarian quiche available (which excite me) along with a veggie dandwich, and a Brie Sandwich with fig jam (also enticing to me a s vegetarian), but with biscuits on the menu, that’s automatically the direction I default to. I had the egg and cheddar biscuit. I asked if they could make it with egg whites and they said ā€œnoā€, they get the eggs this way so it was a bit disappointing to me to learn the food was essentially not made to order. It also tasted a bit-reheated which is kind of obvious to tell with biscuits. It was also too hot when I received it…the cheddar cheese on it was over-melted and didn’t have much of a taste. It tasted like I was getting biscuit and egg. Cheddar on a biscuit should be not quite so melted so the cheddar flavor shines through.

I’d give the place another try if I’m back in Chicago…but with so many options downtown it wouldn’t be top on...

Had a medium roast drip coffee and it was not really great. The coffee had the strong bitter/sour flavor of mediocre coffee that's sat around a bit too long (both before and after brewing). They serve Metropolis Coffee, so that explains the mediocrity (the La Cordillera blend that I bought is usually pretty inoffensive/characterless), but this stuff was way too acidic to have been freshly-brewed.

I can certainly put up with that, but it's a bit annoying to walk an extra few blocks to get non-Starbucks/7-11/Dunkin Donuts coffee, only end up paying a little more for something as bad or worse.

So far as I can tell by the menu, this place is really more tailored to desserty espresso drinks. If that's what you're looking for, I'd perhaps give this place a try. If you're looking for good-tasting coffee, I'd...

Tried out this coffeehouse and bakery for lunch because it was close to work. The staff was pleasant. I only bought food, which tasted great, and have no opinion on the coffee. My main issues are with the deceptive prices and food-prep hygiene. First, the prices on the large board menu are NOT the actual prices for anything. However, there is no sign that notifies and neither are the staff upfront about the discrepancy in pricing unless you mention it. Also, they will NOT honor the advertised pricing. Second, the pink-haired food-prep person was NOT wearing a hairnet or hat while making the sandwiches. I thought about telling someone, but didn't want to make a scene. I didn't find any hair in my food, but it's not sanitary, so eat at...

Terrible cold brew and no wifi. - I’ve been wanting to try this chain for a long time and was excited to find my new go-to for coffee. I really needed wifi so I finally went and bought a cold brew. It’s shocking they’re even allowed to call it that legally. It was so watered down and bland, almost as if they skimped on coffee grounds or recycled them. I even dumped the ice out to keep it from getting more watered down). I made the mistake of buying before asking about the wifi situation. There’s a sign at the register that says no password is required, but I asked the employees why it was locked and I was told the public wifi wasn’t working and had been acting weird. How convenient.

One of the smoothest, creamiest lattes I’ve ever had. Dollop coffee is a dollop of joy! While pricey, the quality of the coffee, attentive service, and convent location makes it entirely worth it. There are seasonal drinks, light fare (sandwiches and salads), homemade pastries, and little snacks for purchase as well. Expect to pay $5-8 for coffee including tip. There are no bathrooms so you have to go to the potbelly. Parking is challenging since it is downtown however the spot is easy to walk to and locate. Dollop Coffee is perfect for a quick morning boost on the way to work or a light lunch. Will definitely be coming back! ā˜•ļø
