Perhaps one of the worst Italian food I have had in my life, and I have some pretty bad ones. This lower bar/restaurant was quite deserted on a Friday evening when we got there. We should have read the signs then. We ordered a few things from a very basic menu. Nothing wrong with a basic menu as long as the restaurant makes them well. The fired artichoke were lame (3/5) and unwieldy, and their shape became a food innuendo joke between the ladies. The short rib pasta had cream in it which took so much away from the taste of the short ribs. In fact come to think of it, there were so many items in the menu with cream in it. My partner's pasta alla Norma was almost inedible. It had a pooppy brown green color that I have never seen before and a taste that was worse than its looks. Our server was enthusiastic and the wine was decent. No one ordered dessert. Cannot believe I had such bad Italian food in a city with such culinary...
Read moreCame here on a whim walking by the area. We were sat by the host and waited almost 10 minutes for the menu. We found it online ourselves and had to place the order with the host. The table next to us had to ask for water and the server placed empty glasses at our table and we waited another 10 minutes for our water glasses to be filled. We had a host (I’m assuming from upstairs) yell to the open room a name for a table that was ready that wasn’t even in the room. Just completely ruined the vibe with the service and the experience, the drinks were delicious. This place should NOT be treated as a “waiting room” for the tables upstairs. Give the bartenders and service more respect and hopefully they pass it along to...
Read moreMy wife had a couple drinks while waiting for a table upstairs. About an hour. This place is fantastic, feel like we have found a place to revisit when we are on town. The atmosphere was just so very chill, low lighting, people enjoying their conversation. The bartenders were Eric, Carter, and Marco. These guys rock!! They were super nice, funny, and really work well together to create a great bar experience. After about an hour, we went upstairs and had dinner at the village. Once we were done, we came back downstairs to enjoy the bar a little more, they remembered us immediately, and our drinks. Highly recommend. BTW, the rosemary daquari...
