Let’s give a fair review. Upon entering it’s really nice lots of lights. Almost feels like an episode of black mirror. It’s Friday and you request the 1-6 ppl room. it’s the size of a shoe lol (I’m not kidding it’s so small.)
THE PROBLEM: When you reserved online it’s 524$ paid for in full . Upon exiting half drunk you don’t realize you have now paid 605$ for that same room and that’s NOT including gratuity or the add ons (which we expected)
Except ,you took a picture of the receipt for further inspection.
Apparently there’s a “weekend” HIDDEN fee of 80$ we were not told about ONCE (not while reserving, checking in, or checking out)
The shoe box had really cool lights a wrap around couch and a table that barely gives you room to walk around. You get a big screen tv (smaller than the one I have at home YIKEs.) There’s a bathroom in the room complete with wet floors (I know because I dropped my phone yuck!) There were no paper towels in the bathroom, like WHAT? COME ON.
The room comes with buttons for light control and a call button. We waited over 30 minutes for someone to come to our room.
We ordered: egg rolls for 10$ NOT BAD Soju 20$ …eghhhh
Overall we had fun and it would not have been a problem except that when we left they do this trick where they say “I don’t know why we charged gratuity when you reserved I don’t like that, so we’re refunding the gratuity and now u are getting charged less on ur original payment.” but you must pay almost 200$ for the add ons of tonight. It just leaves a bad feeling like very sketchy.
Again originally the reservation fee was 525$ WITH GRATUITY.
Left paying 670$ and only added on 30$ worth of drink and food. See where I’m going with this?
It’s fine it’s money and we came to have fun and pay. But sketchy business is my sign to stay away from this place. Why not be honest from the get go. Oh wait I know… BECAUSE NOONE in their right mind would pay 605$ for a room the size of a shoe box with a tv smaller than mine and a mediocre call service.
All they had to do...
Read moreLet me start by saying that I’ve always had great experiences here in the past, which makes this visit all the more disappointing. I came to surprise my mom for her birthday, and I was told that everyone in the party could come in early to set up for the surprise. However, when I arrived, I was told the rest of the party had to wait—mind you, it was only 6:58, and the rest of the group was already at the door. This delay ruined the surprise timing for my mom.
To make matters worse, no one took our cake or cupcakes, yet I saw the manager bringing in cakes for other parties. Then the system started malfunctioning, and when we complained, we were told to use a backup system with limited song options. Not only did this cut into our time, but even after asking for an extension, we were met with a firm "no." I’ve never experienced that kind of response here before, and in the past, even when the system had issues, I’ve been offered complimentary food and apologies. This time, though, there was no acknowledgment or offer of anything, which was heartbreaking, especially since it was a special celebration for my mom.
Additionally, I had reserved a room for 12-16 people, but we were shoved into an uncomfortably small room. I’ve never been in a room so cramped here, even when I've come with smaller groups.
When it was time to leave, I specifically asked not to have any food or drinks thrown out, yet we were rushed out before our time had even ended. The staff kept coming in to clean, despite promising to give us a little extra time, and they ended up throwing out my mom’s drink. It was replaced with half a glass, even though hers was full, which was honestly just laughable.
I am beyond disappointed by how we were treated this time. I should’ve gone to one of the other karaoke spots in the neighborhood, because at this rate, this one is quickly losing...
Read moreI've had a lot of bad experiences in the past at private room karaokes. I tried to do my research ahead of time to avoid what I'd experienced before. Instead I found the same problems but maximized. A system that was impossible to navigate - want to find The Killers? Try "the", try "kil", nothing. The only solution is to swipe through the 100+ pages of artists and bands to find something you recognize, and try it. We were told at the start of our session that YouTube was an option, and how to find karaoke tracks there, but every time we opened YouTube we were faced with an error in Chinese. Of course mentioning that to the staff was met with a shrug. We were able to have a good time by tapping on literally anything we recognized but weren't able to find songs we wanted by searching. Still, no harm no foul, we had fun despite the technology.
But then came the bill. $100 service fee. $25 "room fee tax". $17 credit card fee. $125 for a batch cocktail that "serves 6" but only filled 3 of the provided highball glasses. And none of this was apparent until we'd already left a tip. I checked the fine print on the menu after the fact to see if I missed any mention of fee, but nope.
As we flailed with the impossible to use system, the staff tried to help as best they could. I can't blame them. But the whole place is a rip off and didn't do much to dispel my notions that paying for private room karaoke means you'll never find the songs you want, but you'll get plenty of hidden fees and...
