If you're on the hunt for the ultimate dumpling experience in the city, look no further than Qing Xiang Yuan Dumplings. Tucked away in the heart of the bustling streets, this gem of a restaurant offers a unique blend of traditional flavors with a modern twist, all wrapped up in a cozy ambiance that invites you to sit back, relax, and savor each delectable bite. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The interior boasts a charming blend of traditional elements and contemporary touches, creating a space that feels both familiar and fresh. The soft lighting casts a gentle glow over the tables, while the sleek decor adds a touch of sophistication to the dining experience. But it's the food that truly steals the show at Qing Xiang Yuan Dumplings. I recently had the pleasure of trying their pork and cabbage dumplings, as well as their beef and onion dumplings, and I can confidently say that they are nothing short of extraordinary. Each dumpling is bursting with flavor, with every bite delivering a symphony of tastes and textures that dance across the palate. The pork and cabbage dumplings are a delightful blend of savory pork and crisp cabbage, encased in a perfectly steamed wrapper that's tender yet resilient. Meanwhile, the beef and onion dumplings offer a rich and indulgent experience, with the tender beef complemented beautifully by the sweetness of the onions. What truly sets these dumplings apart, however, is their juiciness. With every bite, you're treated to a burst of succulent flavor that leaves you craving more. And let's not forget about the intense umami that permeates each dumpling, adding an extra layer of depth and complexity to the overall dining experience. Needless to say, Qing Xiang Yuan Dumplings has quickly become a favorite spot of mine, and I have no doubt that I'll be coming back time and time again. If you're a fan of dumplings—or just good food in general—do yourself a favor and pay them a visit. You won't be...
Read moreWent with friends once and ended up somewhere else after someone outside told us the wait list was one hour. Decided to give a try on a sunny saturday with some time to spare.
Yelp tablet gave a 30 min wait and had very clear labels stating that the displayed time was not accurate, host stated beforehand that wait time was around an hour and repeated the same to the customers that came in while I filled in the app.
Went to purchase something around the block. Received a text message exactly 25 minutes later stating that our table was available and that we had 5 minutes to show up. By the time we got there, the host stated that we were two minutes late and had lost our table.
One thing why I had assumed that our wait time would actually be so long was because I had requested a "not shared, no squeeze table". Yet after having to sit down by the storefront and wait again, we were offered a shared table. The customers next to us could've been worse, but one of them was quite noisy, so the experience wasn't that great.
The waiters that handled our table were very nice, specifically the first one, who was extremely understanding after I somehow managed to order the wrong item twice and modified our order accordingly.
Quick service time, dumplings, and the Si Fang beer were good.
I would strongly encourage management to give customers the option of setting up reservations, regardless of extended anticipation dates due to limited availability or implement a more personal and/or flexible wait list management, instead of the whole...

Your wait was determined by wanting a private table vs sharing vs squeezing in at a very tight table area. Not to mention the room was a bit warm the portable AC at the front of the house did not cool the room. I ordered the wagyu beef and onion dumplings, kimchi, lamb skewers, and Chinese beer. The dumplings were out first. They were steamed and a few stuck to the bottom of the basket. After the dumplings were eaten several waiters came by asking if I was done, although the rest of my order had not come out. Eventually, the lamb skewers came out, and they were delicious. Tender and well seasoned. As soon as I was done eating the skewers a lady came over with the card reader, she didn't even ask if I enjoyed my meal. I reviewed the bill and told her the kimchi never came to the table. She spoke to a server (who was not my server) almost as if she didn't believe me about not receiving my complete meal. The waiter returned to my table and apologized that the item had not come but without missing a beat was placing the card reader in front of me. I felt completely rushed. After the bill was settled the lady returned to my table without saying a word, reached over me, lifted my phone off the table, removed the menu, and walked away. I won't return. My dining experience was ruined. I felt rushed and could not just enjoy the experience of authentic dumplings. I don't like the hurry up and buy...
