I never realized how many Mediterranean restaurants there were in Chicago. Between Oasis Cafe, LeShuk, BenjYehuda, and IDOF, Sila’s was good but didn’t impress me. I got a Sila’s Chicken bowl with spicy rice, potatoes, and eggplant. I got some Tabbouleh, feta, Mediterranean salad, and pickles. I got both Sila’s sauce and garlic sauce. The pickles hit, the potatoes hit, the tabbouleh hit, the sauces were good, but at the end of the day my rating is mainly based off of the meat. The chicken was not something that I wanted to eat all the way through the bowl. I’m not sure if it was because the chicken was dry or maybe the spicy rice was the problem. The service was good and the atmosphere was a little janky with a weird door situation and half of the monitors not set up. I’d say 3 stars is the...

I'm downtown so infrequently there is always a new restaurant or a restaurant I loved has closed. Today I found a new restaurant. I tried the Hangover sandwich (it is more a grilled burrito); it has gyros meat, grilled chicken, roasted cauliflower, roasted eggplant, rice, creamy sauce and a garlic sauce. It is delicious. My plan on eating half failed because it was so tasty. The roasted vegetables and meats went well together, and the sauces complimented the sandwich contents and provided some moisture. I also had a side of Baba ghanoushn served with a grilled pita bread; it had a garlic-forward flavor that I enjoyed, but someone might find...

The quality and freshness of the food were phenomenal. They have a wide selection of bases, proteins, toppings, and sauces. The chicken and Falafel were my favorite. Chicken was perfectly marinated; the Falafel was homemade and delicious. The steak was tender and flavourful. The spicy rice, potatoes, and eggplants are my favorite. All of the toppings are fresh; my favorite was the hummus and spicy feta. The signature sauce and Sila's tahini were delicious. Silas Mediterranean Restaurant is hands down the best Mediterranean Restaurant in the loop...
