This is where I’m “from” last, so on my way to take care of things in my “hometown” from wandering around the US, my brakes died so I’m sitting around Chico and being super responsible and then BLAM, the music changed right around when I realized I needed to write a personal statement AND a statement of purpose for graduate school. Not only did I instead, resort to creating amazing run-on sentences in a review and consoling myself with “take more online classes at community college for another year to fill the blanks”, but the music altered my attitude and made me just sit back and enjoy one of the many unique coffee flavors I keep forgetting they have here—-NO arguments about opening a bag or having them strain so hard to open the cabinet and poke around to see “what’s open” as there’s always good stuff open. See photos. Everyone can pee (or poop or whatever y’all do In there) at this Starbucks. Parking is ample and close by. Outlets are limited, but adequate as it’s too far from the college to be super busy. No secret nooks, no resident “that guy”, big windows to keep away that feeling of claustrophobia, but the (only) 2 comfy chairs are smallish. I was happy that mean lady wasn’t here and the 2 associates were friendly, helpful and working hard. Whipped cream is FREE!! All is clean and well kept. Internet is wonderful in comparison to other stores in the area. I took away a star because of memories of the uptight lady. This place is quite relaxing without her. More people should hang here. Oh and Starbucks, can you give us some idea on this art thing? Are we just supposed to be puzzled? Can we have some f-Ing captions please? Your associates have no idea. At least send them the Starbucks curators statement or something. See weird...
Read moreNot impressed at all. I encountered two young, twenty-something, snobbish, and clearly homophobic Hispanic employees who were conspicuously judging me for my sexual orientation when I went in around 7:30 p.m. Their vibes gave me the feeling of being pushed away defensively, for fear that I would flirt with them (and so what if I would have, hypothetically? Straight people do it all the time, and part of being LGBT inclusive is to allow us to be ourselves). They need to learn how to treat gay male customers. The guy who rang up my order also seemed surprised by my health conscious questions regarding the caloric content of specific food items, and me being mindful in general, of not ordering unhealthy items. The looks and vibes were so hypercritical! Did he expect me to order unhealthy items that do not match my health needs? Why was he looking at me in such a judgmental manner? After he rang up my order, I went to the restroom, and then went to the counter to pick up my drink--only to be greeted with homophobic judgment by the two male employees. It was all in their looks and vibes, as though they didn't want much interaction with me, and just wanted me to leave--as though I was some diseased person or animal that they didn't want contact with. Needless to say, I will not be returning here ever again, and hope that corporate and/or the store manager discover...
Read moreThis is based on the lady with white hair working on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 during the lunch hour. When I arrived and said I was there for a Traveler I ordered on the app her tone was pretty dismissive and rude when she said it would take 15 minutes. I told her my app said it was ready; another employee politely apologized, saying she accidentally hit the button saying it was ready. No problem. A few minutes later I asked the white haired woman if it was possible to get a hard copy receipt for the Traveler when I ordered it via the app. Her response was again rude, as if she was talking down to a child, when she told me no and it was on my phone. Even though the other people at this store that same morning and the other employee on this visit were pleasant and helpful, this one lady is enough to completely sour me on...
