Round Table Pizza — Restaurant in Chico

I rarely do Google reviews but it was my first time trying this particular Round Table Pizza. I do have to say the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I asked them about specials and one member recommended I order online because they have orders specifically from ordering via online- that was a little disappointing. The ordering process was easy, but they didn’t have very many specials online like other pizza places in town. Although, the limit of specials, the quality of food/service was great. It seems like they need more workers @ night/weekends. All members were working behind the counter making pizzas and taking care of customers at the register. This lead the lobby to be a little messy- but understandable due to the circumstances. My order was done on time, they got the order correct and without me asking, added plates/cheese/peppers. I did not know I could not leave a tip when I paid and had to add it when I originally made the order online- so sorry! I will bring cash next time. Quality over quantity!! Food is delicious! Usually pick up a pizza at this Round Table any time I’m in Chico. The quality and taste is always consistent and good.

Unfortunately, inflation and such has jacked up the cost of a large to nearly $30 which is, quite frankly, unsustainable over the long run, but that’s hardly Round Table’s fault.

What dropped them a star was what I observed with the guy preparing the dough. This person has relatively long hair and as he was pounding the dough, his head was moving like a head banger’s ball.

This is no problem if a person is wearing, what I thought was universally utilized at restaurants in food prep areas, a hair net. Sure, they look stupid, but the point is no one wants to have someone else’s hair in their food. Mr. Headbanger was rocking his long locks right over the dough he was preparing and, quite frankly, it was disturbing.

I made a small video of the process and will send it on over to RT corporate and ask them if this is standard practice for them.

So, four stars, great tasting pizza, but a newly sadly realized need to do greater hair...

11/27/19: I hardly ever get to eat at Round Table. I ♥️ it so much! The sauce is my favorite😍, so I bet you can imagine how mad I was at myself for forgetting🤦🏼‍♀️ to tell them extra sauce. The lady working was hesitant but I think she saw my 💔. She said to bring her the pizza they brought me and she'll make a new one. It was totally my fault and she elevated her customer service beyond my expectations📈💯!! Also, I stayed for a long while and all staff greeted each customer super kind!

Still no club house makeover. Might be getting time now.
