We were really excited to finally try this place — it’s been on our list for quite some time. I’m not giving it two stars because it was bad, but because our overall experience just wasn’t great.
I first discovered this café through a well-known food reviewer here in Pittsburgh. Maybe the staff knew she was visiting, or they just had a great day then — but that’s what initially brought us in. After two weeks of trying to make it (since they’re closed on Sundays), we finally went.
At first, I thought it was a proper sit-down spot, but it’s actually a small, cute café — which is fine. A lot of people seemed to be ordering to-go or eating in their cars.
The ordering process was okay, but the food and drinks came out very slowly and inconsistently. They also called out drinks only by name, not by customer, which made it confusing since several people were waiting for similar orders.
As for the food — I ordered a chocolate croissant for my daughter, a ham and cheese croissant for myself, and my husband ordered a croissant with eggs and patties.
My daughter’s croissant had just a small strip of chocolate — the rest was plain pastry, which was disappointing. My own order was incorrect; I received a pepperoni roll instead, and it was almost cold. By the time I realized it, I had already taken a bite and didn’t want to wait in line again.
My husband’s sandwich wasn’t much better — his patties were cold, so he ended up eating just the croissant and cheese.
For drinks, I ordered a chocolate caramel latte, but it tasted like a plain cappuccino. My husband’s black coffee with creamer and sugar tasted like it only had a pinch of sugar and a drop of cream.
Maybe we just caught them on a bad day — they were quite busy, and I’m trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. But overall, we left a little disappointed.
That said, the display pastries looked beautiful, and the café itself is very cute. I really wanted to love it, but unfortunately, our visit just didn’t meet...
Read moreLa Petite Bakery is an absolute gem! Their transition from the food truck world to a brick-and-mortar spot has been a delightful upgrade. Finding the new location is a breeze, with ample parking available. The decor is not just cute but also charming, adding to the overall experience.
Now, let's talk about their food – wow! The quiche is a star! Even if you're not an eggs enthusiast, you'll find yourself falling head over heels for their outstanding quiche. It's a testament to their culinary mastery that they can make something so amazing for someone who isn't typically a fan. I literally never eat eggs because I don't like them but on a whim during a food truck night last year I tried the quiche, and I've been hooked ever since. It's fabulous warm, but also great to buy a whole one and take home. My family goes crazy for this amazing quiche! And those croissants and pastries? Pure treats! Each bite is a taste of perfection, making it difficult not to indulge.
What truly sets La Petite apart is the evident quality and care infused into everything they do. Nicole and her husband pour their hearts into their creations, and it shows. Their dedication shines through in every dish, ensuring that each customer feels truly special.
Believe me, the drive to La Petite Bakery is absolutely worth it. If you haven't experienced their delightful offerings yet, you're missing out!
Next time I'll take photos- this time we dove right in to the croissant pepperoni roll and grilled cheese croissant before I even remembered to...
Read moreWOW!! La Petite Bakery & Cafe is truly a priceless diamond in the rough!! What I mean is that it’s a French Patisserie nestled right here in Beaver Falls!! Let’s start with the food. Amazing!! I purchased 2 Lemon Cheese, 2 Cherry Cheese filled danishes, 1 Chocolate Croissant, 1 Ham and Cheese and 4 Butter Croissant for less than $50. Seriously, the Ham and Cheese Croissant is phenomenal and it’s less than $7. Filled pastries are mostly $5 and a butter Croissant is only $3. The service is impeccable! From the moment you cross the threshold, you feel as if you belong there. It’s quaint, cozy and inviting. Family owned and you can tell!!! This is the type of patisserie that if you were visiting, you’d find a way to stock up and transport home. Fortunately, I live here but I’m still probably going to pack my freezer. The butter tastes European. Also, the danishes don’t have a soggy bottom and both of those are huge!!! I actually can’t wait...
