I'm a big fan of the original 5th street bagel over by ISU. I was really excited to see a new expansion on the business. The one near ISU is always doing well. I think new front is good,
It has the same great bagels and coffee that is expected for the orginal. The only think I would say is the staff seems to br working out a few quarks still. I when I went I ordered a coffee and it had seemed to be forgotten by the staff until I mentioned. However they did quick rectify the mistake and got it to me very quickly. The esthetic of this location seems to lack the personality of the original a bit. Granted the this is a smaller location compared to the original. The original had a homie, touch to it. This location feels to leans into the aesthetic of other modern businesses. It is not bad but it does miss some of the charm of the original.
Overall, if you like fifth street bagel what the food and drink they provide. This is a great location to visit if you are nearby and cannot drive...
Read moreJust wow! I'm coming back; this place is a must-try gem. It is lighter fare comparative to other places, but it's so very filling and satisfying! The lunch special included a bagel sandwich (melt) that was quite artfully crafted, a soup, the optional pickle, optional bagel pieces to dip in the soup, and a variety of premium drinks, coffee, all included (or this AMAZING cider / seasonal drink that was just a few cents more). At ~$11, I was blown away. No wonder they had a good little group (but not too busy), and won 2024 Idaho State Journal Reader's Choice Award.
Victoria was so helpful at the cash register, and helped make this one of the best restaurants I have been to in a while; I'm glad there is one on both sides of town. I was greeted warmly on entering and felt at home by Cassidy, and Ashton the chef and manager obviously enjoyed his role and was fun to...
Read moreWe've been going to the original Fifth Street near the university for the better part of two decades, always enjoying their fresh bagels and bagel sandwiches. Always a good experience, but the line is always long and there's very limited seating. We tried out the new Chubbuck location and it was a good experience. Line wasn't overwhelming, we got our food quickly, and all the tables were kept clean. They didn't learn much from the first location, though, and I would have loved to see a little more seating here. The bagels we had on this visit were fantastic, and even better than what we'd usually get at the university location. Overall, glad they have a second location, and we'll definitely be back. Despite living by the university one, we're more likely to come to this location due to the improved...
