Chapala Mexican Restaurant Pocatello — Restaurant in Chubbuck

I ate here on Friday the 17th at the recommendation of a friend. It's a good place to go for Mexican food.

I ordered the Burrito de Carne Asada and the Chicken Taquitos to-go. Both items were very tasty and flavorful. Good size burrito and packed full, as you will see in my picture, with beans and rice. I was surprised actually how much carne asada was in the burrito. The menu is a pretty basic Mexican restaurant menu that you can find at almost any Mexican restaurant. They do offer a lot of dishes on their menu. I asked the hostes which dish she recommended, and all i got for an answer was, "There are so many choices." 🤔

Overall, it was a good experience. It only took about 15 minutes to get my food ready. They packaged my burrito on a paper plate, which I didn't mind because I didn't have to dirty any dishes. The restaurant seemed very clean. As I was waiting for my food, several groups of people came in and were seated almost immediately. So, there does not appear to be a long wait time to be seated. Even for a Friday night. The staff seemed very friendly and inviting.

I'd recommend Chapala's for anyone. I'll probably go back again and try...

The food is always really good. It's better than the majority of Mexican restaurants in town. (Subjective, yes, but true for me). There is plenty of menu choice and the place is always clean. But the real reason you should go there is the service. The front house staff are amazing. I think it is the owner, could be mistaken, who runs the front. He is always 100% of the time happy, friendly, outgoing, and welcoming. He makes you feel like you are eating at his home, not a restaurant. This was our first visit to Chapala Mexican restaurant and it will not be our last. No waiting to be seated. Everyone was very friendly. The restaurant was very clean. I had the pork chili verde and the pork was very tender. My husband had a combination plate which included a chili rellano and a chicken enchilada verde and he also said his dinner was very good. Both our meals also came with rice and beans and was also very good. I might mention that I have a side of sour cream with my meal which the server always forgets but not here, it arrived with my meal.
