
Planet fitness has a person that works for them that in my opinion, I would call an all out racist based on her actions towards me, my wife and my two teenagers. We tried to go in to workout today and was turned away. The racist told me that her name is “ Kyra” and is supposedly the assistant manager. We have been coming here for at least 3 years with our black card memberships and never have issues bringing in guests. And what a huge inconvenience to download a barcode for every guest I bring in. I have brought coworkers and friends that ended up getting their own memberships in the past which is more business for planet fitness. I can’t imagine the inconvenience and annoyance of downloading a freaking barcode every time I bring someone. But, today my wife and I went in with our two teenagers, who we have brought in dozens of times, “Kyra” , who we have never seen there before, saw us, ran over to us and told us that we couldn’t go in until we downloaded some guest barcodes for our kids to keep a better eye on how many people were in there, and I do understand that, but my wife did ask if it was ok to do it afterward because, it was obvious that our membership plan allows us to bring guests and secondly, no one there has asked us to do this before in 3 years except for “ Kyra”, today. She was also questioning my teenagers’ ages when I have actually seen people come in with small children and actually worked out with them. Could it be because I’m black and my wife is Hispanic? It just felt strange. We were there to work out, not do paperwork. We grabbed a seat and started doing what she asked, and my wife was able to download one but struggled with the second one because she can see that “Kyra” turned her back on us and was whispering and snickering with her coworker, which was when we decided to leave. Apparently , we couldn’t go in until this barcode was downloaded. Even though I believed that her behavior was racially motivated, I tried to give her the benefit of doubt, which is why we sat in the parking lot for another hour after the incident to find out if anyone else that came out with a guest went through the same situation as us. And in that hour I managed to talk to 2 different members that brought guest and as you can guess, the two people were white and Tod us that hey have never been stopped and questioned about their guest as long as they have been members and definitely were not harassed by “Kyra” to. In they told us that “ Kyra” was very warm to them. It just felt like “Kyra” was trying to purposely frustrate us because I am black and unfortunately in my 42 years of life, it is sad to say that I have dealt with people like her over the years especially being an OTR truck driver for the past 15 years, you kinda see bigots like “Kyra” coming from a mile away. If she would have been genuine, I believe that she would have come over to the table, which was a few feet from where she was and assisted us, instead of turning her back and snickering like she was enjoying our frustration. I do understand that this is a franchise, which usually mean that if the owner has the same beliefs as the ignorant employee, nothing gets done, so I do plan on taking this as far as I possibly can because this type of behavior is getting out of hand. “ Judgement free Zone” can not be made possible when you have bigots working at a great franchise like Planet fitness. Read moreI returned a ladies wallet and keys that she left in her locker unlocked and locker number 28 and I put my stuff in there after I return her stuff to the front desk and they broke into my lock and put a new lock on my locker after I return her stuff so they broke security in my locker on my own lock after I return her stuff to the front desk they didn't talk to the whole staff beforehand or check the lost and found before they broke into my lock unauthorized WITHOUT PERMISSION. My things are WAY MORE IMPORTANT THAN ANY OTHERS THAT COULD HAVE EVER BEEN IN THAT LOCKER MY STUFF IS WAY MORE IMPORTANT AND NEEDS SECURITY AT ALL TIMES I SHOULD ACTUALLY CALL LAW ENFORCEMENT ABOUT THIS BECAUSE THEY COULD HAVE GOTTEN INTO MY CAR THEY COULD HAVE GONE ON TO MY PHONE THEY COULD HAVE GONE INTO MY FILES ANYTHING THAT WAS IN MY CAR THAT IS HIGHLY CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION THEY BROKE SECURITY WITHOUT PERMISSION UNAUTHORIZED BEFORE COMMUNICATING TO THE ENTIRE STAFF AND CHECKING THE LOST AND FOUND I RETURNED HER THINGS BEFORE I PUT MY STUFF IN THAT LOCKER AND THEY BROKE MY LOCK AND DIDN'T EVEN TELL ME UNTIL I LEFT AND THEY ALL KNEW ABOUT IT AND LAUGHED ABOUT IT THEY CAN GET SERIOUS SERIOUS TROUBLE REGARDING ME AND MY NAME AND MY HIGHLY CONFIDENTIAL...
Read moreI had tried to cancel my membership 3-4 weeks prior to canceling again on the 13th of January 2022. It was not taken care of. The manager Cameron, was resolute that I pay another membership fee for services that I'm not even using. I had originally closed my ICCU account when I decided to cancel my membership. I missed the cut-off cancelation date by 3 days, and Cameron is still trying to charge me. The reason I canceled my membership is because of the terrible customer service I received at the front desk and because of Covid-19. The gym is not being sanitized appropriately and their is no masking policy in affect. We are in a pandemic and Omicron is wildfire in Idaho right now. You are just a gym membership number here. A bar code. Don't expect any professional courtesy or situational understanding.
