I know itās a deli, but they had hamburger on the menu and that sounded goodā¦. But I donāt think the workers had ever prepared a hamburger before. Meat tasted like sausage, they brought it to me with no sauces on it, and they were out of ketchup, I asked for white and got wheat, it was on a hoagie type bun- not a round one; bread was cracking- kind of hard-like it was old, flaked off in chunks when you took a bite. Husband got a Reuben; meat was minimal not like a usual amount elsewhere; he gave it a 2.5.; mostly ate the inside, tossed a chunk of the bread. Tots were overdone, he liked his cottage fries; they did have fry sauce, which he loves.š The young workers were nice and polite and kept apologizing⦠the older rock music they were playing was fun for a trivia game with husband while eating⦠but food was very sub par. First time thereā¦. But donāt believe weāll...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've been eating at The Works since the mid-90s. I realize that it has changed ownership since then and that times have changed as has the location. The food is still good. What bums me out is that you used to get a very healthy portion of meat on your sandwich. It was several slices of good meat. The meat is still good, but on an 8" sandwich, I got 2 very thin slices of roast beef and 2 very thin slices of turkey. This is a $9 sandwich. It's $3.99 to make it a combo (though some signage says $2.99). With tax and tip for the hard working staff, we averaged $15.00 per person with two in my party only having one type of meat while two of us had two types. There is so little meat that it gets lost in the flavors. The hearty portions that brought me in for years are gone while the prices have climbed. I'd be tickled to pay $9 for a sandwich made the way...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDisgusting. Me and 2 coworkers ordered salads for lunch. I opened mine up to see a HAIR in my salad clearly visible as soon as I lifted the lid. I picked it out and tried to look past it as I know these things can happen sometimes. It gets worse. My two associates and I all noticed the chicken in our salads tasted like disinfectant, and one of the other girls took a bite of veg that tasted like mold. We just tried to call the store to talk to a manager and were told that it is too busy for them to talk to us right now. Youād think they would want to know the quality of food is bad before they hand more out to the locals. I paid 13 dollars for a salad that I canāt eat and am now waiting to see if they can be bothered to talk to us and hopefully give our money back. Sad deal as I used to enjoy their food but seems quality control is a thing of the...
