This is not your typical 5-star review. It's not about flawless execution or unparalleled excellence. No, this review is about one person's exceptional problem-solving skills: Manager Jesus. Thanks to his swift actions and ability to handle a challenging situation, PF Changs Eastlake earns all five stars. So, a big thank you to Jesus, the hero of PF Changs Eastlake!
Now, if you're interested in the gripping story of what happened, get ready for a rollercoaster of inefficiency, staff mistakes, and one manager's exceptional ability to turn things around. If you'd rather skip the drama and go straight to the verdict, rest assured that the food at PF Changs Eastlake is excellent, especially their gluten-free options, and you can trust that the manager is more than capable of tackling high-pressure situations like a boss.
We placed a larger take-out order of $100+ on July 7th around 6 pm. We parked outside at stall #4 and called the number on the sign. However, the system had long prompts, making it less than ideal. When someone finally answered, they lacked professionalism and struggled to understand the name on the order. They assured us the order would be brought out when ready and asked for the stall number.
After thirty minutes, we called again, hoping for good news. This time, a different person answered and we asked about our order. Surprisingly, they didn't ask for the stall number, assuming they had it from our previous call. We then saw a staff member hand a bag to someone outside the restaurant without any questions. It seemed like a mistake had been made. Concerned, we went inside and approached the hostess stand. When we asked about our order, we were told it wasn't ready, which seemed odd. We requested an estimate of the wait time and noticed staff gathering behind the stand, indicating a problem. When the hostess returned, our suspicions were confirmed—they had given our order to the wrong person.
Frustration peaked after waiting over an hour amidst inefficiencies and unprofessionalism. We decided to ask for a manager. Jesus, the hero, came out and listened to our concerns. He apologized sincerely and assured us the order would be remade, though there would be a wait. Remarkably, Jesus offered to comp the entire order. We were truly grateful.
We waited at the bar and discovered Voodoo Ranger, one of the best beers on tap, adding a glimmer of positivity to the situation. Around 7:40 pm, Jesus personally handed us our order. His attention to detail made all the difference.
Here's to you, Jesus! Your exceptional skills in managing high-pressure situations deserve applause. Thank you for swiftly resolving a predicament caused by a staff mistake. It is for this reason that PF Changs Eastlake earns a well-deserved 5-star review. I have no doubt that the restaurant will learn from these incidents and improve its processes.
To future patrons of PF Changs Eastlake, expect excellent food, especially the gluten-free options. And if, by some unfortunate twist of fate, you find yourself caught in unforeseen events, take solace in knowing that Jesus, the remarkable manager, will be there to save the...
Read moreI am not one to complain (especially since my family is in the restaurant industry and I myself have been a manager at one of the locations for years) but wow, I have never been treated so horribly by employees at a restaurant. My family and I went in on Sunday, August 21 to have a late dinner. As soon as I met up with my sister in laws in the restaurant parking lot, I was told that both my sister in law and mother in law weren’t treated nicely by the hostess. Her name is Paola. The young lady was apparently extremely rude and did not want to take us in as dine in customers. She insisted we order take out due to the long wait (please keep in mind, it was 7:30pm and the restaurant did not close until 9 pm), and we told her we did not mind waiting. From the beginning, Paola had a bad attitude towards my family and I experienced it myself when we were called in since our table was ready. We were a group of 10 and were fully aware we would be seated separately due to COVID-19 restrictions. We can’t be seated with more than 6 people per table so we walked in with 6 of us and a baby (total of 7). As soon as we walked in, Paola told us it can’t be more than 6 people so no problem, we immediately sent one of our nephews back to his mother and father so they would have a table of 4. It was no issue for us and as soon as we sent our nephew back we told her we were ready since it was now 5 of us plus a baby...we asked Paola if this was now ok and she then rolled her eyes at us and said “I guess” in an extremely rude way. At that point, I finally understood why my sister in laws had mentioned she was very rude! We had no idea what she had against us (we think it is because they closed at 9 and they did not want to seat us - which we don’t understand, it was 8 pm at that point), but this is no way ok and we hope it doesn’t go unnoticed by her manager. My sister in law had had it with this hostess so we asked her why she was behaving this way towards us and she would ignore us and not respond. I was honestly so shocked with how rude she was towards us, I truly didn’t know what to say. We asked to speak to her manager and she left to bring him to us. His name is Edgar and I honestly don’t believe he was the manager. The manner in which he handled the situation was also very unprofessional and he did not take the appropriate actions a manager should take. He provided us with his boss’ email address which I think is most likely fake so I have resorted to leaving a review. While PF Chang’s has delicious food, I will sadly take this incident into consideration before ever...
Read moreWe felt safe dining here during covid times. Everyone I could see wore masks properly, we were space appropriately, they asked us to wear masks every time we leave the table, there was hand sanitizer for people to use, and they had QR code to pull up their menu digitally on their printed drink menu which appears to be single use. They told us their menu has been slimmed down because of the pandemic because ingredients are harder to source. So no walnut shrimp, but hopefully they'll make a return one day. They set up a tent in the parking lot to allow for more safe seating since their outdoor patio area can only hold so much. Our server Eric provided great, attentive, and friendly service. The food here is just okay and that's being kind. I didn't realize that the rice in the California rolls my BF ordered was uncooked until I ate the leftovers that I took home. The chicken lettuce wrap was greasy and salty. I wish the sauce provided some sweet and acidity but it was just more saltiness and pointless to use. The banana spring rolls we had for dessert were amazing and a must. I live in Orange County so I've never felt the need to go to a PF Chang's before since I have access to way better Chinese and Vietnamese food. You pay for ambience at this chain restaurant since the food isn't any better than the "Chinese" food you get a Panda Express, but since we sat in a parking lot that wasn't...
