Dear Adriatico Management,
I hate leaving this establishment a bad review it's one of my favorite pizza spots near UC campus but the way in which I was treated is forcing my hands. I'd wager it was about 7:53 when I finally left the restaurant after receiving two mediums I originally called and ordered 1 medium no peppers(no peppers is kind of important for me, it factors into the story) I got there 30 minutes later and my friend went in to get the pizza she came out with a pizza which had peppers on it which I said on the phone no peppers on this order. Given its Friday and they were busy it's understandable they’d make a mistake I could hear noise throughout the background placing the order if they simply replaced it I would not have had to write this review. I went into the establishment myself and spoke with a young lady who informed me she was the manager (I don't know if this is true or not) I told her I said no banana peppers (verbal mistake on my part which shouldn't have mattered seeing as on the phone call I said no peppers) and she quickly spurred into action to debate me citing that these aren't banana peppers they’re jalapeno peppers.
At this point she stared at me as if to force me to take the pizza that I didn't order, I told her on the call I said no peppers so I expect none on my pizza can you please remake it. I'm trying to condense this because she also debated with my acquaintance who first went in which is why they had to come back after going back in. So after getting asked by 2-3 different workers if I paid for the order(which I did we both know they wouldn't let me walk out of the establishment with a free pizza They proceed to get to making the new pizza, I decide at this point that I want a large so about 20-30 seconds later no more than 30 I say excuse me could you just make that a large, she tells me "nope we already put it in" Wow it's only been a few seconds since I uttered the words how could you have possibly, never mind; instead she insisted that I get two mediums since they already started on one. I waited 20 minutes and they come outside to call me I go in and I pull out my card to pay the remaining 7-dollar difference, A new young lady is at the register as I pull out my card she stops me and informs me she needs to see I.D. this was odd I needed to show I.D. to get a pizza is the cheese coated with vodka? is the crust enhanced with some form of adult beverage?
But any-who at that point they had already treated me like a second-class citizen so what's showing my I.D. I also carry my social security for the next time if it's needed. Oh, and regarding the no peppers being important I have Acid Re-flux Disease spicy stuff tends to burn my insides alive like an actual fire is inside my intestines so I make sure to say no peppers on any and every order I placed and will place so excuse me for not taking a pizza that would burn my insides and keep me up the entire day.
Sincerely, Graduate of UC and disappointed customer
P.S. I noticed your other response to a upset customer accusing them of just wanting to leave a negative review I assure you in my case it’s the opposite I didn’t want to leave a negative review but If you had experienced the type of treatment I had you’d be writing a one page review too. Also I went ahead of my own volition and decided to include a photo of a young girl experiencing pain in her chest to illustrate how the pizza would react if I had taken it the way you wanted to give it to...
Read moreI came to Adriatico's on McMillan after it first opened with some friends. It took a while to get our drinks and some items on the menu were unavailable due to a problem in the kitchen. This was inconvenient but they had only recently opened and the place was packed so I didn't think anything of it. After ~30 minutes our server took my friends' dinner orders. Luckily I didn't get food, because when our waitress came back another 20 minutes later, she asked us if we had ordered anything. I've never had this experience in a restaurant before and needless to say dinner deteriorated from there. It was another hour until anyone got their food, our drinks were replaced sporadically and none of us were happy. This kept me away from Adriatico's for some time, 8+ months, until my girlfriend and I decided to try ordering pick up. We ordered two calzones around 4:00pm on a Sunday and were told they needed half an hour to bake. We show up at the restaurant, which maybe 1/3 full, on time and are told it will be 10 more minutes until our order's ready. After 15 or 20 minutes, a server tells us there have been some mistakes in the kitchen, and our food will be ready in just 10 more minutes. I was upset at this point, but we were comped 2 free calzones for a future order so I was placated enough to simply wait for my food. Around 5:30, at least 1 hour and 15 minutes after we originally called in the order, our food was finally ready, but we got home to realize the calzones were still wrong. At this point I returned the food and just asked for my money back, which they were happy to refund. I have to say the staff was courteous and the food is actually good, it's just not good enough to risk waiting hours for an order that may not even be right. I would much rather support a local restaurant than a corporate chain, but I don't think I'm going to return to Adriatico's...
Read moreGood service, great food! Went on a Saturday afternoon with my husband and 2 small children. We were warmly greeted and seated immediately. We ordered a large hand-tossed sausage and pepperoni with a side of parmesan bread sticks. It didnt seem like we waited too long before our pizza arrived, which is a relief when you have two hungry toddlers in tow. Pizza was fantastic, even with the spicy pizza sauce. My kids didnt seem to notice at all. Im somewhat of a pizza snob so im very critical when trying new pizza businesses. But let me tell you guys, the pizza and the experience at Adriatico's made me proud. The sausage was fantastic (and im a faithful pepperoni girl)! We could tell that both the sausage and pepperoni were REAL (not that generic store-bought crap lol). The crust was a perfect balance between chewy and crunchy. Cheese was gooey. And it wasnt too greasy. The only negative point i have about our experience is that our breadsticks didnt come out until well after our pizza did. We were told that it was because the first batch came out a little overcooked but im not sure if it was the kitchen staff or our server who dropped the ball on that one. We appreciated the kitchen staff's attention to detail, thus wanting to send us a better batch, but a little communication would have been nice. We didnt really complain about it though and when asked for a status update on our order our server, karen, was pleasant about it. When we finally did get our order the breadsticks were nicely browned and buttery. They were soft and hot and the dipping sauce was hot and cheesy. Overall we had a great dining experience and will definitely be back in the...
