Tried this on Valentine’s Day, wasn’t busy when we arrived. Started off strong with the potato tornado thing. My partner got the lava katsu sandwich, and he really enjoyed it. I got the general tso cauliflower bc I wanted to play it safe with flavors as I’m mega picky lol. Unfortunately that was a not so good decision. The sauce wasn’t general tso, it was more like sweet and sour sauce, and they informed me of that before I ordered it. But in my opinion if it’s not what it says it is, the menu should be changed. The dish was VERY okay, nothing special about. All I would say about it is that I think there should be an option to make it with chicken OR cauliflower, and that they should cook the food in the sauce instead of pouring it over after the food has been plated. The waiting staff were all super nice, I was a tad confused as to why we had “multiple” servers. The layout of the restaurant is like a long rectangular so I figure they might just not have specified sections. No issue with that tho! I met who I THINK was the owner, she seemed fine. In conclusion, don’t be like me and play it safe. Venture out on this menu, it’s very safe very good dishes! Lots of options for everyone. I would def come back and try...
Read moreA new gem downtown! I lived in Singapore when hawker stands were the best places to eat. Now Cincinnati has its own version and it is really good!
The owner is a delight- and was very generous with her time, telling us about the food, her vision for the restaurant and favorite spots to eat in when in Malaysia.
We demolished the Oknomiyski as an appetizer and then ordered the skewers -pork, oyster mushroom and veggie. They were all very good, and next time I'm going to also get the lemongrass chicken.
We finished off our meal with the tofu mushroom banh mi sandwich which was served on a brioche roll instead of the traditional baguette. The owner explained this was by design because the brioche makes the sandwich easier and cleaner to eat. It was really good.
Good selection of beers and we found Sapporo to be a great pairing with everything we ordered.
The restaurant is a totally different design from the previous lobster sandwich place and well done.
Vegetarians- make sure to tell them if you don't eat seafood- some of our dishes had shrimp and bonito flakes.
Go now while it's easy to...
Read moreThis new eatery on Court Street is amazing. I was caught by the diversity on the menu, the items reminding me of my years of living and traveling around Asia. The very first thing on the menu is one of my absolute favorite Japanese dishes, okonomiyaki, and it’s nearly impossible to find here in the states. I ordered it for the table and it did not disappoint. It’s lighter than one would think and impressed the first time tasters in my party. Second order was the skewers. We went with pork, mixed vegetables, and king oyster mushrooms- all were grilled to perfection and delicious. Finally, we ordered the crispy tofu bahn mi sandwich. From the moment of putting the brioche bun in your mouth to the final chew, you’re rewarded with delicately balanced waves of flavor that build with competing. It was pure delight and difficult to hold back from ordering...
