McAlister's Deli — Restaurant in Cincinnati

This was my third visit at the Marburg location, and on the first visit ever at McAlister’s, the experience with the taste of the food was pretty good (nothing as spectacular as I was told it was though), but nevertheless, the potato was tasty! On the first visit, it appeared that the manager was keeping everything in line, & although it was busy & I had quite a wait, I wasn’t displeased. The second visit, they ran out of full sized potatoes so I settled for a kid’s meal, today, which seems to be the case at a lot of places these days, customer service is thoroughly lacking! The woman with the short red hair seemed to not want to be there because when I came in, she removed herself from the lobby seat & went into the kitchen staring at me as I was trying to place an order with the girl who couldn’t get my order right. When my order went to the back, she immediately started making my order, but why she moved her mask down as she was preparing my order, I don’t know. When I asked for a sour cream that wasn’t in my bag, it was tossed to the other associate. This lady seemed to be in her 50’s; older than myself & her customer service was below standards. There was another associate who had braids down to her buttocks! I just don’t understand the lacking work ethics these days! It wasn’t like this when I was a teen or even a little older than that! Everythng has gone down hill! The food was decent, even though my order was wrong & she stood back in the kitchen staring at me while I was placing my order, so how didn’t she get it right???!!!! How hard is it to un bag & take out of a warmer & put in a bag, especially when u heard everything the customer asked for??!!! I will be going back, but I hope the manager is...

I worked at the one in Kenwood for 4 years, so I was eager for this location to open. I never got sick of the food while working there (still haven't years later), which is saying a lot for working in retail, all of the food is good and they have plenty of options for everyone. At this location, the food is excellent & the service is good. I love the variety of seating they have too, unlike other local locations. They did visit our table a little too often (my friend & I counted 8 times on our visit), but that isn't the worst problem to have. Getting there is tricky with construction still going on, but I could see the parking being hard to get at busy times when everything is done. They also don't have trash cans in the restaurant. This is because they don't want you to clean up your food, but I had a drink from another place I wanted to throw away when I got there and I had to do that in the bathroom because I couldn't even find a small trash can.

If you go, get a choose 2 so you can try multiple things. My favorite items are the chili (veggie or regular), the fire roasted vegetables soup, the grilled chicken salad, the spuds, the mashed potatoes, the Heath cookie, chocolate lovin' spooncake and the tea (I get unsweet Arnold Palmer or sweet tea). If you get tea, try to get one of the reusable tumblers. They are good for cheap refills all the time, unlike other places that make you buy a new cup every year. I actually love Mcalisters it’s one of my go too restaurants . McKayla has poor customer service . She was acting if I was getting on her nerves because I asked her to look my number because I forgot the passcode to my app which it was done for me when I visited the establishment on Friday I was like so upset I had to leave out of the restaurant .so I tried to calm myself down because she was like being very aggressive actually trying to argue with me I’ve been in customer service for a long time and I know that’s hot how you act in an establishment. So I walked in to speak to the manager and I asked for the number to corporate he said corporate won’t do anything but send you back to me and he gave me the regional directors number so I called the number and of course he gave me the wrong number I wasn’t being rude or disrespectful the girl McKayla was still talking saying things like I am not the one girl by totally unprofessional I decided to leave and get food else where and I probably won’t be back until she is removed from the location .
