I went to try the place based on online reviews. I sat at the corner table adjacent to the mounted tv.
The table had a used toothpick on it which already grossed me, but after pointing it out to the waitress she cleaned it immediately and apologized.
I ordered veggie samosa and chicken biryani. Veggie samosa same ordinary samosa and came to the table a tad cold-it seemed like it had been sitting under the warmer before it got to me.
Chicken biryani: definitely not the traditional Hyderabadi dum biryani. The rice and veggies were extremely mushy and the chicken seemed like it was cooked separate and then added to the rice. Traditionally you get shorba (brown gravy for the biryani), raita, raw onions/cilantro/lime on the side. I got one lemon slice and had to ask for more. In addition, I had to ask for water refill. I asked the waitress to leave the water jug at the table and she didn’t.
I had to point out to the waitress that the salt shaker was empty as well, so she then retrieved all the salt shakers from tables and filled them. PLEASE WASH THE SHAKERS! They were sticky! I’ve worked in hospitality for a very long time. People want a good dining experience, especially now with the influx of cost-my tab for two items $25.00 and some change.
I also suggest putting all the bags and containers in the back or in the back booth-just looks cluttered right in the front. Second tip: leave water jugs at the table. I asked the waitress to leave it and she didn’t. Hello food is spicy and some of us need water regardless!!!
Don’t think it’s worth...
Read moreThis was the first time I have ever tried Indian food, and the first time I was ever at this restaurant. For anyone who needs certain religious dietary accommodations, all of their meat is halal! First of all, the service was phenomenal. Our server was very nice, answered all of our questions, and all of our food was correct the first time. Our glasses of water were never empty, even though the place was full. They are incredibly inclusive with spice level, offering 4 levels of spice. Our food came out the perfect temperature and it had so much flavor! We even ordered some food to go for later. We met the owners, they came right out to our table and introduced themselves, Paul and Anu. We chatted with them for a while and they gave us an incredibly warm welcome. The place had a very authentic feel, incredibly sweet owners, and great staff. This place is family owned and run. The food is very fairly priced as 3 of us were able to each get an entree and share 2 appetizers as well as get a few orders of naan to go for less than $100 before tip. I got the butter chicken with garlic naan, one of us got the chicken seekh kabob and the other got the cheesy garlic naan taco. The butter chicken sauce was so smooth and flavorful. For apps we got the papari chaat and the samosa chaat which were amazing. To go we got some cheesy garlic naan which was to die for. We definitely will be coming back here in the near future. Thank you so much Paul and Anu for the...
Read moreThis place was recommended to me by my sister, and I wish she never mentioned it. I spent 34$ on an incomplete order, and the manager proceeded to say that certain food items were a courtesy to us and not required. Now when I go to any Indian food restaurant in the area, when I order curry, I get rice. Now when I called after picking up my order, she told me "it's not included with dinner, and you should have asked for some." At this point I'm like ok but your website doesn't say this, that's why I didn't ask for any when i got to the restaurant. She just proceeded to say that no other restaurant gives away rice. I was like ok whatever. Can I at least get refunded for the food that didn't get the chutney as I don't have a way to eat it now? She told me to go and get some, or to come back another day to get some from the restaurant. Like what??? Honestly she was so disrespectful and rude to me on the phone, I couldn't even believe it. She told me to come get it now and she'd have it for me, but when I said I was 20 min away she asked for my address so she could check herself.....I mean...I can't even. She said she could refund me for the items, but that she wouldn't. I seriously wish I recorded the phone call. 16$ for a curry with no rice (3$ more if you want it), as if. Go to Indian Spice restaurant if you want AMAZING curry! Don't worry it comes with rice and it's cheaper! I will not be coming here ever again, and I've told everyone I know to...
