Silver Garden & Mongolian BBQ — Restaurant in Citrus Heights

This has got to be one of my favorite places in all of Sacramento. The prices and portions are the real winner here. Even though "Silver Garden" is in a rather sketchy part of Sacramento, don't let the neighborhood scare you from dining here. I always tell everyone that some of the best food is from the hood! And as far as the location goes, it can definitely be a hit or miss if you've never been here before. It is nestled in a small strip mall next to a liquor store on Madison Ave. in the Foothill Farms area of Sacramento.

The interior is rather out of date but don't let that deter you from eating here. You will find bright red chairs and booths that look like they're straight out of the 1980's. Additionally, the place is spacious which makes it easy for very large parties to dine here. And when you enter, the waitress will ask if you prefer Mongolian BBQ or Chinese food. Mostly everyone that comes in (including myself) goes for their all-you-can-eat Mongolian BBQ.

The one thing that always keeps me coming back are their prices. As far as the Mongolian BBQ prices go, it is an amazingly low $11.50 for lunch and $14.50 for dinner! Now that's what I call a bargain! And some might think this is only for the Mongolian bowl itself; however they also include a bowl of hot egg flower soup, fried rice, an egg roll, and a cream cheese wonton! It can be very easy for two people to dine here for dinner and not even spend more than $30.00!

As far as how the process goes, you start out by picking your meat (beef, pork, lamb, and light & dark chicken). You then proceed to add your noodles, a wide array of vegetables, and of course dressings and sauces to make everything come alive. The chef then lets everything 'sizzle' on the hot iron grill while whipping it all up in your bowl in less than a minute! I think what sets "Silver Garden" apart from its competition is their extremely tasty sauces. I've never had anything that's tasted so authentic while packing so much wonderful flavor.

I'm not going to lie, I've eaten here at least a dozen times in the two years I've been dining here. The food truly is that good! Overall, I won't go anywhere else for Mongolian BBQ as long as I'm in Sacramento. This is a hidden gem that everyone...

I really loved the place so much. So traditional and the people there are so nice and friendly. The soup, the crispy walnut shrimp was amazing and the spring roll. The food was extremely delicious and full of flavor. It tasted so ethnic. From the first bite. God bless the owner, the staff, the cooks, the servers, the hosts and front desk, the dish cleaners and everyone for working and making this restaurant beautiful, friendly, so inviting and wonderful. I love so much how restaurants feel like homey and just having different people from different places all enjoying good food and conversation and feeling Gods love everywhere and his blessings. May God reward them all and they thrive and be great and blessed them and their families and loved ones and everyone working there and make their dreams come true. Bless them in their homes, cars, kids, family, friends, relaxing, peace, work, money, sports and hobbies. Let them always be thriving strong and creative and people always enjoying coming here enjoying the atmosphere, food and everyone working there. Respecting them and appreciating them. Nothing I like more than a local Mom n Pop family oriented restaurant that serves excellent food! Friendly staff, good service, great food and extremely affordable price.

Been a huge fan of this place for over a decade. They have everything here. Awesome lunch & dinner combos. Chinese Food and Mongolian BBQ. A nice option to pick from.

Let's start with their Mongolian BBQ. I like it hot. Left over eating cold is even better cause it taste better than 15$ a La Bou Salad. For a good sized bowl filled with meat and vegetables, 1.5 scoop of all the dark sauces and 2 full scoops of oil ( combo of sesame and hot.) bowl of cabbage soup, rice (steamed or fried) and egg rolls comes with it! Cheese wonton with dinner combo. Did I mention they make BEST cream cheese wontons in the world???

Their Chinese food is out of this world. I can't find another place to compare it with. Wor Wonton Soup is super hearty with chicken, beef shrimp loaded with cabbage. A meal within itself. Their Fried Rice and chow mein is un believably tasty. Walnut prawns, is so creamy it melts in your mouth. Chicken wings, cheese wontons, general chicken & triple delight. YUMM! I can't name everything off the menu. But EVERYTHING they make is good!
