As a Jersey girl, I was so excited to see pork roll (Taylor ham) on the menu. Back home, a Taylor ham, egg, and cheese on a hard roll was always my go-to breakfast at a local deli or diner.

Unfortunately, this one was a letdown—from the fake folded egg, to the dense, un-crusty hard roll, to the thin slice of “pork roll” I had been most excited about.

If you’re from Jersey, don’t expect this Taylor ham, egg, and cheese to replicate your hometown favorite.
