Do NOT let the reviews scare you. They are unjust and based on you average typical restaurant expectations. However nothing about this place is typical.
1st, when you come in, this place is located in a seasonally busy area already gives the hole in wall restaurants vibes, which true foodies know is a clear indication of difference in grading. Yes usually you have lower quality Utensils or seating arrangements in a place like this but in this case, the only "low quality" experience was the table cloth, which didn't weren't a lost star.
I'm certain the staff running are also the owners so operating your own restaurants getting started and cooking Asian or Middle Eastern food is no easy feat. This dishes are typically cooked over time and in larger quantities.
The food we had was all great. The taste of the Haleem was a little different than I am used to, but I'm also used to a recipe from Karachi, Pakistan, not Afghanistan.
Overall, food was good, tea was excellent! service was nice but a little slow (possibly due to cultural difference and/or inexperienced new owners) Masala Tea was excellent Naan was excellent Hummus was good Haleem was good Chicken briyani was good Chicken Mundi was okay, could use a little more flavor and some chutney or Cilantro sauce and was a little dry.
People should be more gracious an considerate yo what they are actually rating and what they are getting. You could not use the same rating system for an Oliver garden as you would this place.
I would be happy to recommend it to someone else if I knew anyone else looking for a place to eat in the area. IMAGINE being these owners starting your own restaurants in a...
Read moreWe visited Niagara Falls and were approached by a lady with a flyer promising 10% off and halal food. We decided to try it but this was a terrible mistake
Before we even entered, we noticed the sign outside said “Chus” with Chinese writing, which didn’t match the restaurant name. Once inside, there was no customer service. The owner’s kids were running around, singing loudly and creating chaos.
It took forever to get our food and when it finally arrived it was really horrible. The kebab roll I ordered was the worst I’ve ever had. The portions were very small, and the food was barely edible. The water glasses smelled like eggs, and when we asked for water, they gave us a plastic bottle and charged us for it. They later gave us a water jug which should have been given from the start, which was also given 20 minutes AFTER we entered. When we asked for a refill, they put their hands inside of the water jug instead of using the handle. It was disgusting.
We did not get the promised discount either. Only one part of our group did. We went with a group of 12 and we all left feeling very sick and disappointed. complete waste of money and time. This place SHOULD NOT be in the restaurant business and they are not prepared AT ALL. Don’t waste your time or money here, you’ll be making...
Read moreWe went Niagara Falls to visit. There was a lady approached us with a flyer and stated that we will get 10% discount on food and it is halal food. We went there ordered. No customer service. Kids of the owner were running around, singing. They took long time to serve. After order, they probably went to bring food from home to warm up. Food quality was horrible. Glass was smelling. Not enough food. We really were disappointed and disgusted. I have never ate restaurant food like this. I ordered kabab roll, awful. We did not get promised discount. No customer service, they were in wrong business. No restaurant experience. We went with a group of 12 people. Extremely disappointed. We were very hungry and after eating felt like throwing up. No one should go to...
