Better Service at Denny's; sadly better food too. Being understanding of hard working and short staffed hospitality workers is a must post-Covid. My sister is a Chef and I hear the horror stories of ungrateful patrons. It became increasingly difficult to be understanding while we watched waiters socializing after a party of 8 was seated yesterday. We waited almost an hour to receive drinks and once we got them, waited so long after they ran out most of the party walked to the bar to have a bartender there refill them about 10 ft away. It should have been a sign to us then we would wait over 1.5 hours from our order time to receive the first meals. The lemon basil pasta was gritty and sent back to the kitchen without being replaced at all because everyone seemed unsatisfied with their meals in some way. The lemon flavor was actually very good and they used fresh basil, but no sauce made a dry pasta on a HARD piece of dry fried chicken I cut my gums on trying to chew. The steak Flatbread was advertised as fresh mozzarella, but was obvious not. Shredded and obviously as dry as the dried basil they used on it. My mother was served a child's burger (some sort of prepressed frozen Walmart looking special patty) after ordering a gourmet one from there cheaper end of the menu for $17. The waitress was kind as she went to the back to retrieve the correct one mid-meal once my mother asked where the pickle, fried onions, and tomato were. If you are looking to get drunk, it's a great place since the drinks are over poured as long as you can choke them down. During a breakfast visit, my party of 6 was sat and never asked for drinks. We had one person in the party actually go behind the bar and retrieve silverware for the whole table to start eating the breakfast buffet they were returning to the table from (there was none at the buffet) We finished our first plates from the morning buffet before the silverware came from the waitress. 3 visits over a holiday weekend, well over $1,000 spent in the restaurant and not a single meal from the party that was happy with what they were served. Very sad there were not closer options for dining seeing it was a busy weekend and we couldn't always venture far. Came all the way to NY to end up order pizza to our hotel rooms. Read moreMade reservations for 8:30pm, arrived at 8:25 and was told there would be a 15-20 minute wait. After 25 minutes We approached the host stand and were told that it was going to be another 30 minute wait. At that point I was frustrated and told them so and they said that they had a long table they could sit us at. We got seated by 9pm, followed by another couple they put at the other end of the table. After sitting for 15 more minutes our waitress came who was also the bartender pulling double duty so she warned us the service may be slow but the drinks would be good. The service was indeed slow, we placed our full order hoping that would speed things along so she wouldn't have to run back and forth but the kitchen was clearly not equipped for the Saturday night they received. Our food came out, it was subpar quality at best and after a hour plus of waiting for it- I was less then pleased. We spent the whole meal pretty frustrated with our experience and by the end it clearly showed as our waitress grabbed a manager who offered us free dessert or drinks but we just wanted to leave and refused said offerings. We were only charged for our two drinks and I made sure to tip our waitress/bartender for her efforts. Even the manager admitted there was no excuse, just that she was sorry for our experience. By the time we left, the other couple was STILL waiting on their food order- an order that they placed at the same time as us. This place really needs to work on communication between front and back of house, there is no excuse for the bad service we received from hosting to food. For the prices they charge - you would expect better quality but it simply isn't there. Save your money and frustration and go somewhere else. Parkway Prime not worth the...
Read moreI want to warn you about a restaurant that I had a terrible experience at, and I highly recommend that you do not eat there. The staff was awful, and the same goes for the manager. When I arrived with my party of 14 at 7:15 pm, I checked in with the hostess to let them know that we were ready. However, she told me that the room was almost ready. At 7:45 pm, I checked again, and she said that my party had already been seated. Shockingly, they had given our reservation to another group that had a reservation at 6:30 pm. This ruined my daughter's celebration of just graduating from college. They finally gave us a table at 9 pm, and to make matters worse, they tried to give me coupons for a free dessert. After being seated, they put water on the table but didn't give us any glasses. We asked the server for glasses, but he instantly became rude and said, "Well, you don't want anything else." We waited for 15 minutes, but he didn't return, so I went and asked the manager, who was also hostile. I told him that we shouldn't have been given a table in the first place, and I alerted him to the other party being seated in the room that should have been given to us. He then said, "We will right off the drinks you had at the bar." The female server was constantly muttering things under her breath, which my daughter heard. Finally, when the bill came, it was completely wrong. After three times, they finally fixed it. The food was mediocre, but the overall experience was terrible and...
