Dear Rainforest Café Buffalo Management Team, I’m writing to share feedback about a visit my family and I made to your Buffalo location on September 10,2025 (7pm) . I’m from Orlando, Florida, and have grown up going to the Disney Springs Rainforest Café. As a long-time guest and Landry’s Select Club member, I’ve always experienced great service and a fun, memorable atmosphere at Landry’s restaurants. Unfortunately, our experience at your location fell far short of what we’ve come to expect. First, the restaurant itself felt much smaller than anticipated—more like a Rainforest Café “outlet” than the immersive environment we’re used to. The arcade next door actually looked more entertaining, and in hindsight we probably would have just grabbed fries and spent our evening there. We arrived about 15 minutes early for our 7:00 p.m. reservation. Initially, service was quick and friendly. We were waiting on one person in our party, but after that first visit for drinks, we sat for around 15 minutes without refills or updates. Our server seemed unsure of what we had even ordered. Although the restaurant was moderately busy, we noticed only two servers working most of our section. Our party waited 45 minutes for three sandwiches and fish & chips. Ahead of time, we had mentioned to the server that it was my niece’s 4th birthday and that we had brought a candle to add to the cupcake. Unfortunately, after our entrées arrived and left, we then waited nearly 30 more minutes for the Volcano dessert. When we asked about it, we were told it would be another 15 minutes because the kitchen was backed up. I ultimately had to leave our table and flag someone down by the kitchen walkway. We were then told it would still be a longer wait. Meanwhile, we noticed a large adult party seated after us receiving priority service. It made us wonder whether their table took precedence over a small family with a 4-year-old celebrating her birthday with the animals. We ended up canceling the Volcano dessert entirely after spending over two hours in the restaurant. Heartbreakingly, my niece never got to sing “happy birthday” or enjoy her special dessert at the “animal restaurant” she’d been excited about all day. Our server offered a brief apology, but it was clear he was overwhelmed. While I don’t want to place all the blame on him—he seemed to be trying his best—he could benefit from more guidance and support in managing tables and communication during a busy shift. I will continue to be a loyal Landry’s customer, but unfortunately I don’t plan to return to this location. My hope in sharing this is to provide constructive feedback for your management team. Rainforest Café is such a magical concept for children and families; I truly hope the Buffalo location can improve its training, staffing, and prioritization so kids (your main audience) can have the experiences they imagine. Thank you for taking the time to read...
Read moreI am so disappointed with the service. I dined there on January 6th at 7PM When we got there the hostess said the bar was full service and there was no wait to be seated unlike the dining room which had a 25 minute wait. We had tickets to another event so we chose to sit at the bar so we could make our show at 8. There were 3 bar staff, 2 behind the bar and one server taking orders at the table - he was the shorter of the 3 (writing this so mgmt can identify him.) He came and asked if we had drink orders to which we had asked a few more minutes. It took him another 15 minutes to come back and take our order and it was because he was at the bar chatting with the other staff, not paying attention to the whopping 3 tables that were seated. When he finally came back, we placed our order and asked what vegetables were in the house salad - he said he didn’t know but that he would find out. He went to the bar, asked another bar tender and came back and said mixed greens with a raspberry vinaigrette -incorrect as there were many other veggies and we had asked in case of allergies. Our drinks came quickly which were delicious and is the reason I gave it 2 stars. The food, however took 20 minutes to arrive and during this time the server didn’t come back to see if we wanted more drinks, to notify us the food was taking long, to see how we were doing. Just nothing. He was behind the bar the ENTIRE TIME, joking around, flirting with the female servers placing orders for their table. At this point it was 7:45 and we knew we would miss our show, the food finally arrived and it was mediocre as was expected since we came there for the ambience anyway. The server came back and asked if we want cutlery -for context we ordered a pasta and a burger with a salad and there was zero cutlery at the table so we would need cutlery. After that we never saw him again, when we wanted more drinks we had to flag him down, for the bill we had to flag him down and the whole entire time he was just fooling around at the bar. I think I saw him make a total of 2 drinks for other people. We got our bill and tipped 10% solely due to the drinks that the other bar tenders made for us, the hostess being kind and and the one different server who brought the food to our table. If it was based on our server, he would get 0 tip. He has the audacity to take the bill to the other bar tender and IN FRONT OF US complained about the tip not being 15%. You are not entitled to a tip, you get paid for doing the bare minimum and a tip is when you go above and beyond, which you did not do at any point during the night. Absolutely ridiculous, don’t offer bar seating if there is not the same service as in the dining area. Done taking my family here when we are a Niagara. It’s just an...

My grown daughter wanted to celebrate her birthday at Rainforest Cafe as we have done the last couple of years. So we ventured out on a Monday evening to celebrate. When we arrived there were a few people at the bar and a handful of tables seated.
I'll admit going into this that this is a chain restraint and I'm not expecting anything amazing, just a fun night out.
We waitedabout 15 minutes for our server to take our drink order and thanks to the greatly reduced menu, we were able to figure out our food orders before we were able to place our drink orders.
My daughter was feeling nostalgic so she chose the mozzarella sticks and fries. The rest of our party chose the trio of coconut shrimp, ribs and steak.
I usually order my steak medium rare, but when in doubt I choose medium to be safe.
While waiting for our food we enjoyed all the things my daughter loves about the cafe. The animals, the storm and the non stop chants announcing another volcano dessert ordered.
After about 45 minutes our food finally arrived. I thought we were in the rainforest, but based on the steaks, I'm thinking we are in the African savannah.
Saying the steaks were dry would be an understatement. The steaks seem to have been cooked to well done and then tossed back into the flames again, just for good measure.
The ribs were decent, and the coconut shrimp were actually quite edible. They would have been great if we received the plum sauce that they are advertised as being served with.
Since we were approaching closing time we ordered a volcano ahead of time. When it finally came out, with all the fan fair it didn't live up to the expectation.
This is what could easily be called the signature item on the menu. Unfortunately, the brownies in the volcano may have actually spent some time in a volcano as they rival the steaks in dryness, but with a few rounds of refreshments, we finally manage to finish the dessert. The ice cream was the savior for it, and it really needed more.
Overall, I wouldn't normally go here again, but maybe they were having a bad night. More importantly, I'd never dissuade anyone from keeping the kid at heart piece of them alive. My daughter had fun and that is what matters.
Be preparedfor overpriced food across the board and mediocrity at best. A dinner at some of the finest steak houses in the area is on par with what you will pay here for almost...
