Moochi — Restaurant in City of Syracuse

As visitors to Syracuse, we decided to come to Destiny USA as it is such a big mall. To add to the experience, we also purchased their Fun Pass. We decided to use a voucher on Moochi, located in the food court, since it sounded quite good that you can claim a moochi donut or original rice dog PLUS a special drink! We opted for their strawberry moochi donut which was soft and chewy, not too sweet, and had good flavor. For our specialty drink, we ordered the Moochi Matcha which was so cute! The drink was aesthetically made with a cute cat lid (it had ears and a face!) The beverage was tasty but did not have enough matcha flavor. It was definitely on the sweeter side but tolerable. Overall, it was refreshing, especially for the summer heat.

Service was friendly. When we inquired about what their most popular flavors were out of the remaining selections, they made recommendations and answered other questions as well. I think this might be a family business as all three days I was in the mall, I noted the same three people working. A man in the back who usually tends to the rice dogs, then the three female employees in the front who manage the cash and drinks. This spot occasionally gets busy with a couple orders as there is about a 7-10 minute wait for orders.

Update: we ended up visiting Moochi again the day after and tried another one of their donut flavors, crème brûlée, which was deliciously sweet with a nice toasty flavor. I recommend their mango pomelo specialty drink as it was less sweet and had more fruit flavor! We ended up liking this drink so much we...

I'm at the mall where all food court places open at 10. I go to Mochi a little after 10 and nobody is at the register and there are no donuts in the case. Finally someone comes out from the back and says the donuts are not ready but yes, they will be ready in 10-12 minutes. I sit and wait and wait. No donuts and nobody bothering to even come out to the counter for more than 5 minutes and then disappear in the back(, (obviously still working on the donuts). Meanwhile other customers came up to the counter and walked away shaking their heads....they also sell bubble tea and drinks so they could have been selling products to customers. (I have eaten here before and love the donuts) This picture was taken at 10:54 am .....no donuts to sell nobody at the counter....there were literally over 100 people walking around and eating at this point and people were still walking away from this empty stand shaking...

I’m a hard person to please when it comes to food service since that has been my profession for over 10 years. But for a spot in the mall this place was 10/10. Service was great! I had a request for just a Mango Fruit Tea with boba. That’s not an item on the list just Mango Passionfruit Tea. But (I assume) the manager came out and tried filling my request. She even gave me a sample of what she was able to put together. I loved it and she even said “Next time you’re here, I can make it for you.” Super friendly. And the mochi donut was amazing! I never had it before and I didn’t know what to expect. I got the Fruity Pebble donut and just phenomenal. Chewy, crunchy from the fruity pebbles. Just delicious. Too bad it was on a stop...
