Legitimately such a waste of money. I’ve worked as a server at a lot of different places, and done a lot of jobs where most of my paycheck relies on tips or commissions. If you’re working like that for most of your wages, you better make sure you’re not ignoring your customers or clients. They’re not going to automatically give you 20% to treat them like garbage. Industry or not. Do better.
It seemed like everyone in there had an attitude. Idk what it was, but the vibe was so off at that place. Food was ok but not exactly as advertised. I can go more into detail about that but I feel like this is long enough already.
Also please someone in your kitchen/management/whatever… look up a recipe for white bbq sauce cause what you gave me was basically Panera’s cloyingly sweet apple salad dressing, idk wtf that was but it ain’t white bbq. You do know white bbq has vinegar in it, right? Check your ratios maybe. Def doesn’t have apples.
Update: It is the next day, and I have had a stomach ache since last night about an hour after leaving. Not sure if something didn’t agree with me but figured I would mention it. I had the gnocchi, the cauliflower, and the fried chicken. I mostly ate the gnocchi, had only a bite or two of the cauliflower, and one piece of chicken. Gnocchi was really tasty, although a bit chewy and not made in house. I didn’t taste the sage but it still could have been in there.
Fried chicken was a bit in the drier side, it was also pretty bland and could use some salt and a bit more other seasoning, but the breading was crispy. The “hot” honey was not hot at all. I’m actually very sensitive to “heat spice” and this had no heat.
Cauliflower was ok but not for me. Breading was done well, but again, it was lacking in flavor, just needed some seasoning. The basil aioli was ok but needed salt as well. It mentioned coming with shallots, but I only saw maybe a piece of shallot as a garnish, and some chive on top, but shallot didn’t seem part of the flavor profile of this dish.
The cranberry fizz cocktail I ordered advertised rosemary as an ingredient, and it did not come with rosemary. It’s part of the reason I ordered it, it’s not just a garnish but part of the flavor and olfactory sensation, it creates a cohesive flavor profile. Without it, my drink was just a vodka cranberry seltzer. That’s not what I ordered or what...
Read moreThis is my first review prompted only by the treatment received by management. Most restaurants I go to I can find food, good drinks, or good service. Any one of the aforementioned reasons keeps me from negating a positive review for the establishment. I have been frequented this restaurant on too many occasions to put a number on. On this occasion I was with some friends when a bouncer told my friend, who was allowed in wearing a hat, that he couldn't wear it. He removed the hat and continued enjoying himself . The same bouncer came back and told him he could wear it, being my group was the only ones inside and that one bouncer was wearing a hat( same style) . The owner came by and told my friend to step out side. When outside the owner said he was not allowed to come back in. At which point my friend did say some choice words but only because he was told he could wear the hat. The owner had the right to refuse service I get that and believed, af the time. it was do to him wearing a hat. Only when I stepped in to explain that my friend was told that he could. that I realised the real reason. The owner told me I look "Irish" at which point I agreed. Then he said you know why. My friend is black..... I didn't know, until he said that. The owner kicked my friend out because of his race no other reason. He had already complied and took the hat off when he was asked, when told again he only tried to explain....... all that said. Up until tonight the food and drinks were good, the ownership and his racist attitude are why I will...
Read moreFood, atmosphere, price, location, all good, but I want to review because I was blown away by the kindness I experienced from the staff last night, specifically Josephine and Mauricio. I came in for a solo dinner, put earbuds in, and the little rubber part from one earbud came off the headphone and lodged itself so far in my ear that it was no longer visible and VERY uncomfortable. I went to the restroom to get it out, could not, and had a full on panic attack; drenched in cold sweat, dizzy, lightheaded, hyperventilating, etc. An employee named Mauricio came in the restroom while I was panicking, helped me calm down, got the manager Josephine, who let me sit in the back room to regain composure in private. She looked up nearby walk in clinics, brought me water and a wet cloth for my forehead, and was such a kind, calming presence throughout the ordeal. No clinics were open, so Mauricio found a set of tweezers, and with Josephine holding a flashlight they managed to fish this thing out of my ear in the office. They had ZERO obligation to do that for me, and refused when I offered to give them $ afterwards for helping me out so far beyond the scope of their jobs. It may not have been like a life threatening issue, but it was a really uncomfortable and embarrassing experience, and I won't ever forget how kind and understanding and helpful Josephine and Mauricio were yesterday. If you're reading this, thank you. I'm not in WP often, but Lilly's will be my go to brunch/lunch/dinner spot here from now on...
